This workshop is about 3D modeling, oriented on 3D sketching for 3Dprinting with Guillaume Crédoz (Arch. DPLG, former guest teacher and researcher UdM, UQaM). Participants will work on 3DSMax, and by the end of the workshop, each will get his 3D model 3Dprinted. 03 June (Workshop Day 1) Quick review of 3Dprinting uses (examples from Ghouyoum’s practice) Introduction to 3D printing techniques (which type of 3Dprinter for which project) Selective Laser Sintering 3Dprinting Constraints and opportunities Theoretical geometry knowledge course (topology), the architecture of forms’ informations in 3D softwares Initial demonstration of Modeling technique_Underlining of the organization logic of the software 04 June (Workshop Day 2) Step by step exercises highlighting the modeling strategies and tools. Every participant will be guided through the phases and will practice on various cases.
An exploration of the several shoes many designers can wear to affect society around them through socially minded design. Through a set of questions the first half-time, groups of participants will come up with a proposal that positively affects the environment/community/city they belong to. The second part of the workshop will address the step-by-step building of their proposed initiatives. 05 June (Workshop Day 3) Each student will choose one of the exercises practiced the previous day and start to modify and personalize it in order to produce its final 3D model that will be 3Dprinted. Visit of the 3Dprinting facilities and explanation of the production line. 3Dmodels will be put to 3Dprint and will be available for pick-up by June 11th.

On the International Photographer Day, Thierry Van Biesen and ALBA tutor Elie Bekhazi, will take you through product photography with the use of various techniques. Bring your own products.
The purpose of the workshop is to engage the attendees in a creative process that allows them to generate, filter, and communicate startup ideas, whether related to design or any sector, and to help them in the process of applying to various business competition, especially the new Bootcamp program recently launched by AltCity. The tools and approaches will focus primarily on tech or techempowered businesses that are aiming for high growth and competitiveness, but could be transferred to many other sectors as well. Creative sector startups/ entrepreneurs encouraged to attend!
