MEMPHIS TO TRAVEL TO HUNTINGTON ON SATURDAY FOR C-USA GAME WITH MARSHALL The University of Memphis squad (16-4, 5-1 C-USA) closes out January with a road trip to Huntington, W.Va., for a Conference USA encounter versus Marshall (13-7, 1-4 C-USA). Game time is 6 p.m. (CT). Memphis is still ranked in the Also Receiving Votes category of both national polls — No. 33 in Associated Press and No. 38 in ESPN/USA Today coaches. Memphis started C-USA play with a 5-1 record. The Tigers posted home wins over East Carolina 61-58 Jan. 8 and Marshall 77-61 Jan. 15, but dropped a 64-58 decision in their league road opener at SMU Jan. 12. Last week, Memphis won backto-back road games with thrilling victories over rivals Southern Miss 76-75 in Hattiesburg, Miss., and UAB 76-73 in overtime in Birmingham, Ala. In their last outing Jan. 26, Memphis defeated UCF 77-61 at FedExForum. After closing a five-game homestand over the holidays, Memphis played its first road game of the season Jan. 5 at Tennessee.
