Guest Book Dear Glen and family. Thinking of you all. With love - Vivienne

Sending hugs and sympathy to you all on this very sad day. We have many fond memories of our friend Mike, from our travels together in NZ to his travels in Canada. He so enjoyed his time here exactly one year ago - the mountains, landscape and scenery, the wildlife, and the wide open spaces of the Canadian Prairies. He loved it all. Remember the smiling, the laughing, the talking, the sharing, the caring, and the loving. Remember the good times -- always. Love to all, - James & Irene

I feel privileged to have known you. While not friends for a long time, we have a common bond. I will be thinking of you each time we pull the prawn traps or whenever we are trolling past Kirby Point. Keep your line tight and your rod tip up. Happy fishing. Rest in peace friend. - Ralph

Guest Book It is 25 years since we were all together as friends at the Fishing Club and had many happy hours socialising in front of the open fire and many stretched yarns were told!!!! Then we all went over to Waikanae and stayed with you at the beach!!! Some spent their time in bed but you and a few of us decided to walk to Peka Peka, well I felt so sorry for you as your journey was spent with wet togs chafing you all the way back, you did look so comical though!!! I could see ‘Mr Bean’ doing that walk!! Then you and Sharon settled up at Miki Miki and had the kids and once again we spent many happy hours with you all. But as life goes, once you moved up to Taupo we all lost touch, which is sad, when we only catch up when one is so sick. May you rest in Peace Mike, till we all meet again. - Vicki and John.

Speeches Tom Green The effects from the loss of my friend Mike are felt far and wide. Throughout the Bay area, across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. In Kaikohe and Cananda. From Wanaka to Waihi. And not in mere ripples, but in tidal waves that have left most of us deeply saddened. This time in our lives is forever marked with Mikes passing. I’ve been asked by Sharon to say a few words about my friend today as we join to say our goodbyes. I’ve known Mike a few years now. Mike had a nice attitude. He would never get mad and he wouldn’t blow up at disagreements. His sense of humor was very unique. He would always joke. The first time I met him was at my house and instantly we got along. I

used to be the champ at fly fishing in our house till Mike arrived. He always seemed to be the first person to haul his quota outside The Mount too. I remember one time when we went camping in Whakatane. We went to a little fish and chip shop after a long day on the boat. We asked him what he wanted and he said that he just wanted some fish and not 1, but 2 scoops of chips. He finished one of them and saved the other one. He said he would eat it later and sure enough… he ate it….cold. He never cared if you were rich or poor. Mike just became your friend. He never tried to be mean to you and he always thought about what you wanted to do when you planned a trip before he told you what he wanted to do.

Speeches Mike may not have been a Sir or known across the country. But he had a real kiwi’s heart and soul. Always trying to be the best he could and make do with what he had.. We all have more in common than any of us think. We can be here one day, gone the next, in the blink of an eye. He was a good friend to anyone that knew him.

always be my friend. I will carry him in my thoughts throughout my life. I hope you take comfort in the fact that he is, and will always be loved, here, and in Heaven, by God, by family, and by friends. Say hello to heaven bud… - Tom Green

We lost our friend to cancer. A horrid disease and nothing can change that. I ask please that we all go forward, working hard to be honest with ourselves and our families. Don’t get mad with your family. Keep them close. Show the world what Mike always did. Strength and honor. Pride and love. To Sharon and the kids: Mike became one of my closest friends. He will
