Target Training and Development Summer English Language Programme
Target Summer English Language Programme is designed to help students aged 5-16 improve their English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, thus enabling them to access the school curriculum in the most effective manner. The programme runs for 4 hours per day for 6 weeks. The classes are held Block 13, in Knowledge Village from 21 July 2013 to 29 August 2013 Sunday to Thursday. Features • Small age and level appropriate groups 3-8 students • Assessment of English proficiency • Qualified teachers with relevant experience • End of course certificates and a final progress report Targets Upon the completion of the course students will have: • improved communication in the classroom environment • developed English speaking, listening, reading (decoding and comprehension) and writing skills • improved pronunciation and grammar skills • gained self-confidence • expanded academic vocabulary Content Our experienced teachers use various resources and study materials including workbooks, textbooks, visual and audio aids, online interactive programmes. Teachers adapt their planning according to identified learning targets for the students. Language topics are chosen to stimulate lively discussions in class and to prepare students for school tasks and activities. The emphasis is placed on helping students improve their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. This is facilitated by using a wide range of classroom activities including role-play, games, drama, pair-work and group-work. Progress Upon registration students are assessed and placed in the appropriate to age and level of the English language proficiency groups. Their progress is carefully monitored and evaluated on daily basis. Upon the completion of Target English Language Programme, students receive an end of course report and a completion certificate.
