I am a young, dynamic and adaptable architectural designer working full-time at an architectural firm in residential design and studying part-time my Masters of Architecture.

INSPIRATION I am magnatised towards architecture that can succumb to its natural surrounding. Architecture that is exclusive within its environment, acting as an invisible catalyst that aids in exposing the qualities and virtues found within nature. The result being harmonious interaction of the natural and the built environment. ACHIEVEMENTS 3rd prize Transport of NSW and UTS Sustainable Design Competition for Wynyard Walk 2012 Nominated for the NSW Student Awards 2012 Hassell Merit Award for Sustainability Successful Intergration of sustainable principles into a studio project 2007 City to Surf Certificate of Merit 2009 & 2011

Tu Soley_Cambodia 2012 The works were carried out on-site at a residential island in Koh Ramdual, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The projected plan was to construct an upgrade of housing and a playground based on the customs, culture, and construction methods of the relevant community to provide better living circumstances. The remote location caused for disadvantages in the selection and availability of resources such as materials and challenging the adaption of different technical and construction methods. The duration of the project was five days by a team of 35 students and 5 supervisors.

Archikidz! 2012 Archikidz is an interactive architectural workshop day for kids. The first of it’s kind was held in 2004, The Netherlands encouraging Sydney to take the leap in 2012 at Carriageworks, Eveleigh. Archikidz! is featured around the world in Bergen, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Barcelona, Buenos Aires and now in Sydney. It is the largest gathering of kids, architects and architectural students in any one place at any one time in Australia. The event is run entirely by volunteers and funded by the City of Sydney and other sponsors and supporters. It was fantastic to be a part of such a successful and rewarding day. I was involvement from initial orangisational stages, helping to sorce and prepare event fitout requirements such as balloons, chair boxes, carry items, tables, projectors, etc. I was also involved in spreading the word through social media context such as facebook and updating progress status. On the day of the event, I worked at back of scene helping with coordination.

Restaurant for the Homeless

11

UNSW Design Studio_2007 Crn Collage street_Cook and Philip Park_Sydney

Located on Collage street/Cook and Philip Park, is a reha- bilitation facility for Sydney’s homeless. Includes destination point for the homeless to socialise, relax, and eat, as well as to provide shelter, security, hygiene and entertainment. Park landscapes are merged with the new architecture allowing streetscapes flow into the area. Special spatial requirements were addressed with multiple entrances/exits, alternative destination points or paths. The planning demonstratea an open plan design so as to avoid intimidation of the homeless personal space. The presentation of the project was constructed entirely on recycled materials. Paint cans used to display detailed work carried around to tutors.

Farm the Gap_

UTS Design Studio and TNSW Sustainable Design Competition 2012 A Pedestrian Link from Wynyard Station to Barangaroo Wharf

Farm the Gap_ is an ecological and social sustainable approach to the Wynyard Walk project for pedestrian movement from Wynyard Station to Barangaroo. The motive is designed to restore the intrinsic characteristic behaviour of the users and their participation within the site. Wholistically, the new route proposes an internal hybridised network that could encourage a stronger identity or 'hyperplace' to link Wynyard and Barangaroo. The idea of fracturing moments within the city explores the notion of disrupting the monotonous movements and stagnation of urbanisation. The introduction of agricultural elements not only presents the site with an ecologically sustainable avenue but also allows the site the potential to become subdued to an element of rural penetration and urban disassociation. The proposed programatic elements assert new boundaries that aim to disassemble the organised and the controlled in order to disrupt and deteriorate the practice of everyday life. The introduction of new program to deliver a hybridised network, forces the site to maximum usage through all times of the day and night, throughout the week and by all types of users. With a reanimation of activities and destinations, Wynyard Walk becomes a dynamic interaction of cultural and social entities that beckon to be used. In this effort and the spaces gives, the individual user is able to become placed in situations that they will forced to stop, ponder and question their perspective on the reality of a given moment. THe deliverance of raw spaces provides the potential for individuals to transcend their everyday regular behaviour and react according to their sudden surroundings. It questions the point, what it means to be truly human within the urban jungle and how architecture can affect or remake this status. Farm the Gap_ reanimates what has been lost in human intrinsic worth of urban civilisation.
