Concept My concept derived from the long and complex journey each student had to endure to get to this point. Their passage from their home country becomes like a maze to get to their destination, but with dedication many achieve their goal for a better life. The ESL center focuses on the paths, resembling the path and journey they decided to make. The recessed doors and pathways simulate a journey in where choices need to be made. These angular but fluid architectural elements construct a harmonious space where each student is encouraged to learn.

Concept:

The design concept for this proposed spatial solution is based on the sustainable agriculture that the organization focuses on. This served as an inspiration that was translated into the eco-friendly materials to the focal points such as the green-wall or the rainwater jug. The rainwater system stores water for reuse. I accentuated it setting it as a focal point and a conversation starter in the center of the lobby.

The concept is expressed throughout the entire space with the colors chosen to the materials.
