01 Virgin Australia Brisbane Maintenance Facility, Qld A collaborative approach with Virgin’s engineering, technical, security and administration staff enabled the development of a design brief from scratch, which successfully met the challenge of creating a flexible maintenance facility to suit the greatest possible functional diversity. 02 The Shell Company of Australia Head Office Fitout, Vic The 7500m2 head office was completely refurbished over a six month period with a multi-faceted approach to ensure that all divisions were operational at all times. Meinhardt’s project management group managed the process and liaised with all of the key stakeholders from concept phase through to re-occupation. 03 Qantas Airways Freight Redevelopment Project, Vic Detailed phasing and staging plans were prepared and implemented to ensure this busy freight hub remained operational throughout the entire duration of the construction period. Key to this success was the management of several stakeholder groups with important competing interests. Interfacing with existing structures and building services presented significant health and safety issues requiring careful planning and adherence to critical isolation and sign-off procedures. Airside / landside separation and strict airport security rules were front of mind at all times and key to the phasing and staging process. 04 Qantas / Linfox Hangar 4 Extension, Vic The ambitious construction program had to be completed in less than six months to meet Qantas’ business-critical commitment to their ‘Skybed Project.’ Detailed planning enabled not only this tight timescale to be successfully met but for the hangar conversion to come in under budget thus avoiding the need for any offshore work and ensuring that jobs remained in Australia.

Meinhardt works closely with you to make complex multi-site programmes simple. In this multi-site environment integrated Programme Management is the key to success. We manage a number of complex fuel retail programmes throughout Australia. To efficiently deliver dozens of sites simultaneously, we have developed an in-house and bespoke integrated management software platform that deals with the whole programme from start to finish. Through this platform we mange and control every aspect of the programme including procurement, communications, document transfer, project reporting, finance, certification and health and safety. We have the flexibility to tailor this system to create a customised solution reflective of your specific business requirements.

01 The Shell Company of Australia Retail Capital Program, Australia-wide The Shell Programme is a dynamic environment. Key to delivering it successfully is our ability to respond quickly to changing priorities, business decisions and external factors. Meinhardt provides Programme Management services to Shell’s network of 650 retail sites throughout Australia. 02 The Shell Company of Australia RVI-E Program, Australia-wide Corporate image and brand recognition are critical. Therefore, when Shell embarked on the complete re-image of over 200 of their sites nationally, they knew that the only way to deliver would be by adopting a programme approach combining, Project Management, Planning, Design and Procurement. 03 / 04 The Shell Company of Australia NRM Program, Australia-wide To deliver over 900 non-routine maintenance projects for Shell’s Retail network annually, we have created a total project information management platform. This web-based portal is accessible by the whole project team from within the office and out in the field. Access to real-time data from anywhere at any time translates to efficient project delivery and cost savings for our clients. 05 Coles Development Group - Pad Sites, Australia-wide Developing a brand new network of service stations around Australia from scratch is an enormous task and one that requires significant experience and national resources. When Coles embarked on this journey, they came to Meinhardt to deliver an end-to-end service. Meinhardt’s unique programme management skills are now enabling Coles to reach their growth targets year on year.

In response to an overall shortage of diesel storage in remote Queensland, Shell’s Commercial Road Transport team engaged Meinhardt to manage the redevelopment of an existing site and remove all below ground infrastructure. This site has always been a key transport node for the Shell Company of Australia, therefore our ability to complete the construction works whilst the site remained live at all times was one of the key factors in the overall project’s success. The end result was a state-of-art above ground 80,000L bulk storage facility with associated hard stand.

More than a box When Virgin wanted a new aircraft maintenance facility they came to Meinhardt for the right mix of Project Management expertise and technical know-how. They required a total project planning solution. An aircraft maintenance facility is more than just a big shed. There is a network of complex support infrastructure residing just below the surface. The support infrastructure and geometry is customised to the aircraft type and workshops, stores and administration facilities are customised to the client’s workflows and business requirements. A clear understanding of aircraft maintenance technology, Virgin’s workflows and aviation authority requirements was fundamental to the success of this project. Meinhardt brought all this together under a single efficient Project Management and Design structure. Meinhardt has provided services for over a dozen major aircraft maintenance hangar projects worldwide.

Meinhardt is responsible for the management of Shell’s Retail Capital Works Programme and Non-Routine Maintenance Programme for their entire Australian network of over 650 sites. By integrating Meinhardt’s Programme Management team with Shell’s retail business, we achieved a cost saving in excess of 8% in the Capital Works Programme. This saving has been re-invested to enable additional works to be undertaken. Shell recognised Meinhardt’s performance with the Shell Chairman’s Award for Excellence. Because we have the flexibility to create specific management systems to suit unique project requirements, this opens up opportunities for a win-win outcome. Integrating our Programme Management, Planning, Design and Facilities Management resources with Shell’s technical services provided value above and beyond their expectations.
