Introducing the history of ... Los Angeles Joint Committee Employee Assistance Program Many of you may not be aware of the history of your Los Angeles Joint Committee Employee Assistance Program. I would like to share some highlights with you. The Los Angeles Joint EAP Committee was established under Article 35 of the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) and National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Agreements. The LAJCEAP first started in 1994 with Los Angeles as the Project Pilot Site. The LA Project was used as a model and guide to set up the Joint Committee Process for ten sites that were later reduced to five, and today only Los Angeles and Philadelphia are programs of this type — staffed by all Postal Employees. The Los Angeles Joint EAP Committee is comprised of representatives from: APWU - President John Driver and Craft Officer Shirley Jasper NALC – President Larry Brown and Retired Craft Officer Jackie White U.S. Postal Service - Human Resources Manager Kathryn Robinson and Los Feliz Station Manager Rick Perez.

2. A commitment to employees and their family members to professionally deal with problems that adversely affect their job performance and/or their personal life.
