WELCOME

In 2009 Genki began with a 200 wonderful people showing up to our very first event in Valby and what began with such a modest beginning has grown beyond even our wildest expectations. In the few years that we have existed we have grown quite large compared to other conventions. We are now hosting our most fantastic Genki to date. The team behind Genki has worked hard to bring you a convention we can all feel proud of. This year we are happy to bring your our first Guest of Honor from Japan, Mr. Kohei Tanaka. We have an insane amount of events for you, and have made Genki a wonderful convention for meeting friends. We know what it is all about.

When I meet people all over Denmark, Sweden, and other countries that share fond memories of what we have accomplished together. For this I thank all the staffers for working hard and long hours, but I also thank you the participant for always making Genki what it is today. The best damn convention out there. You guys and your happy faces make it all the work worth it. Genki is what we make of it. The memories we share after Genki 2012 will be forever with me, and hopefully with you. The future is bright, and I want to say thank you for all the wonderful times we have had and all the wonderful times to come. With that I leave you with these few words of comfort. We are working for a better future and hopefully you will be with us every step of the way. Let’s make this awesome. /Allan

When arriving at Genki we have some obvious rules we need you to follow. Read the rules before the convention and get ready for a great convention!

RULES

RULES Weapons Rules If you have questions about weapons ask in the info desk. If possible, Weapons will be confiscated if used dangerously, REGARDLESS of how safe the weapon is deemed. Banned Weapons: Metal weapons, such as: Swords, Knives Maces, Shuriken Metal objects Metal armor (We allow Metal armor as long as it got no sharp edges. (I.E: round corners/ edges). You will have to get your armor checked when you arrive at the convention though!) Etc.

Projektile weaponry, such as: Air soft guns Replica firearms BB guns Crossbows Water guns Etc. Exceptions will only be made if it is confirmed, upon inspection by the staff on site, that the firing mechanism has either been removed or is completely inoperable.

Chemial based weapons or explosives, such as: Fireworks Smoke bombs Etc.

5

RULES

Other bad ideas Chainsaws Power tools in general Actual weapons you “made safe” by adding duct tape, e.g. staffs or baseball bats, KNIVES. Free Hugs Rules - the four golden rules • Never ask others if they “wouldn’t want a hug”, as it makes some feel uncomfortable. Let them come to you if they want one. • Never stick your sign in people’s faces, or follow them around, to bring their attention to the fact that you’re holding a sign. • Never block doors, entrances, or areas with high amounts of traffic at the convention. • Respect a “No”. Not everyone are as happy about physical contact with people the don’t know. Photography Rules Everyone is allowed to take pictures and film at Genki, however, you must follow the rules of Danish press ethics and laws on privacy, the most important of which we have emphasized below, as well as a few rules by us: §1. When taking a photo or recording a specific person (e.g. a portrait photo), you must have permission from that person as well as notify them of what the picture will be used for. Failing to do so makes the product illegal to publish in any shape or form (even on Facebook).

6

RULES

§2. You do not need permission to take a general photograph of an event during the con. However, you are by law obligated to delete the photo should one of the people whose picture was taken ask for it. Any compromises are to be done privately. §3. If you have gained permission to take a picture of a person, you are no longer obligated by law to delete the picture, even if they change their mind later. However, this only applies if you use the photo within the frames of what you notified them of using it for. So people, please be 100% sure what you say okay to. §4. Copyright of photos and video footage belongs to the photographers and movie makers, however, it is entirely within Genki’s legal rights to limit how the photos/footage may be used and to demand for photos or parts of footage to be removed. §5. Photos and videos published to Genki’s/Genkai’s Facebook group galleries, by the photographers and movie makers who took them, will be considered as published under the Creative Commons DK license and will be free for all to use. §6. If you want to use photos or films from Genki commercially, you must first seek permission from the organizers via info@genki.dk.

7

RULES

§7. Flash photography during the Cosplay Show is not allowed out of concern for the cosplayers and other participants. §8. Genki reserves the right to use all photos taken by Genki photographers for any and all future publicity, including, but not limited to, future con-books and website posts. Should you not want this, please ask the photographer to delete your photo! Smoking, Drugs & Alcohol • Smoking is not allowed indoors nor near the convention grounds. • Anyone caught taking drugs will be reported to the police immediately. • Alcohol bought outside the convention grounds is banned and will be confiscated immediately if brought onto convention grounds. • Alcohol bought in the café may be consumed in the café if of legal drinking age. Convention Rules • Always follow Danish law and common sense. • Guest are at their own risk and must be aware of the dangers incidental to Genki, including personal injury, theft and failure to comply with our rules. • Please be aware of your surroundings and remember to treat other guests in a kind way. Disruptive behaviour is therefore not allowed so we can keep Genki in a friendly place. this means that running, screaming, yelling, horseplay, unsolicited physical contact, or any such behaviour shall be deemed as

8

RULES

Guests that damage any aspect of the venue or causes need for repair and/or replacement will be personally held responsible. • The convention is not responsible for your items getting lost. Please take good care of your own things, With so many people around things can get “lost” quickly. • Do not leave your things unattended. They will be taken by the conventions staff. CINEMA

CINEMA Dear cinema lovers, welcome! Welcome to our wonderful Genki 2012 convention, we hope you will enjoy your favorite anime on a big screen and in a comfy armchair! This year, we decided to select our titles based on fan opinion, so hopefully this program will please many! As usual, we will only show two first episodes of anime and full movies, so that you get to see as many different ones as possible! In order to make the program and timings more precise, and since we all know that an anime episode is 23-25 min long, we will be showing short anime or music videos during the 10-12 minute breaks – anything to keep you happy! We will also be hosting a great number of quizzes and a anime recommendation panel in between, so that we get to interact and share our knowledge of anime! And who knows, lucky winners may be spoiled with a prize or two! Enjoy! LIST OF QUIZZES, PANELS AND EVENTS IN CINEMA 1. “Sounds of Anime” quiz - runs whole weekend Do you ever listen to the music in anime you watch?
