The project, which was designed by the students in the MEF University during an intensive design process for 2 weeks, was implemented by the end of this period. The project, which was designed for children in primary school in TĂźrkan Ĺžoray Elementary School, was developed in such a way that it would address many different student groups and could be used simultaneously to meet the needs learned through school observations and school management interviews.

In the backyard, which does not allow for different actions due to the flat and wide area it is aimed to design a playground that non-directing and pushes children to become creative with a playground design that is thought to be used by children in different ways.

Wave surfaces rising from the ground are constructed with wooden material to ensure that children can use it safely and the areas where the elevation is high are secured by closing them with networks.

Wave surfaces are prepared by waterproofing the sections that will give the desired form and by connecting them with wooden timber in 5 * 10 dimensions in the opposite direction. After the preparation of the wave cross section with a high height, it is aimed to ensure the transition from both the bottom and the side surfaces by hanging into a permeable cage composed of 5 * 10 wooden timbers.

Sarayburnu is a place that has a very historical texture in it, has no neighbourhood and in an idle state. Aion aims to provide a new spatial experience with the contexts it receives from the region, without disturbing this historical silhouette. The Aion which is mostly under the ground, aims to offer a free experience area to the user with the aim of manipulating the time perception of the users within the space with the design decisions taken with the concepts discovered through the context.

with the identity of the neighbourhood, has experienced an identity division with this typological change due to various reasons today. The project aims to eliminate this problem with an architectural solution by analyzing social differences and conflicts arising from this change from different perspectives.

‘’a public production & sharing space’’

The definition of the word that ‘’habitus’’ is a system of emnodied dispositions, tendencies that organize the ways in which individuals perceive the social world around them and react to it. These dispositions are usually shared by people with similar background, as the habitus is acquired through mimesis and reflects the lived reality to which individuals are socialized, their individual experience and objective opportunities. Thus, the habitus represent the way group culture and personal history shape the body and the mind, and as a result, shape social action in the present.

the re/habitus

‘’a public production & sharing space’’

During the design period, the history and the present structure of the region were examined in many different ways. As a result of some researches, it was determined that the present morphological structure of Yeldeğirmeni started to be formed by the buildings built by German workers living in the area during the construction of Haydarpaşa Train Station. This structure of Yeldeğirmeni, which is rare in İstanbul and which has a designed gridal plan layout that we see in many central European cities, was thought to be the ‘’habitus’’ of people who built this region in the past. This project, which aims to eliminate the habitus of people within the structure, acts against the plan of the region.

This structure, which takes a reference to the adjacent state of the buildings in the region, acts as a contiguous whole that tries to break apart by taking a stand against the current situation with the contexts considered above.

The idea of eliminating the existing conflict and stratification by eliminating the habitus of people with general purpose in the space; Within the space, it has been tried to be transformed into architecture by creating an unconventional environment in different contexts, bringing all different typologies together, gathering them on the same ground and re-thinking their relationship with each other.

When Rome becomes capital of Italy in 1871 a process of expansion beyond the historical centre responds to the its new political and economic role and under the pressure of immigration. Urbanisation relentlessly floods the Campagna Romana, bursting out of the Roman Walls and taking over renaissance villas, archaeological sites, former countryside towns and pieces of infrastructure. The city becomes a field of “palazzine” – the multi-storey apartment building, archetype of private speculation – organised in scattered, incomplete and largely illegal grids. Paradoxically Rome becomes a Roman city, turning the city of collective rituals into a camp without cardus and decumanus, and thus losing the measure of the relationship between buildings and with the landscape.

During the project, it was aimed to re-evaluate public spaces, which were lost, unused and undefined, to the east of the novel, and to present new proposals to these public spaces. Anagnina Station for 2000 people. It is aimed to re-evaluate the relationship between different facilities and space definitions at the current station and to make this area more useful and public with a new architectural proposal that includes all these differences.

The design process of the form was carried out with using the grasshopper parameters. The process of construction of the formed mass started with sewing the two-dimensional fabric pieces which taken from 3d digital model to creating the main structure. Then the interwoven fabrics were filled with corks and sawdust. Then over the resulting mass was covered with gauzes that get covered with whire concrete. It was observed that the corks which was put to inside grew from the holes that drilled on the concrete surface after construction.
