Information Design Information design and content-as-design have become critical components of our clients’ communications efforts as a reliable means of reaching consumers with unprecedented access to information of every kind. Consumers across every spectrum and demographic share a single empowering characteristic today: they personally, actively curate the content that informs their decisions. We approach our projects with the assumption that, if they are going to convince and persuade, our clients must efficiently gain both the attention and the intellectual permission of their audiences in order to progress to the more valuable stages of information transfer. To this end, we are able to locate and identify sources of data, research, and information that meet the client’s quality requirements, convert that raw content into stories, and design those stories to attract the eye and engage the mind.

presentations-on-demand & EditAbility Our friends at Eran Agriculture have big plans that require big capital. When investors in Dubai or Bahrain signal interest, we don’t always have the luxury of strategic planning, brainstorming, and two-week project times. Putting together suitable, coherent, and consistently branded presentations onthe-fly requires more than PowerPoint skills and twelve-hour notice. (Yes, PowerPoint: when a presentation is being delivered right off the plane, clients sometimes need to be able to edit the files without communicating with their design firm). We draw on a litany of once-tortuous, now fondly remembered projects that taught us how to orchestrate the process of collaborating, outlining, and ultimately finishing high-value presentations, even when time is in short supply.

Infographics While some individuals really do grow up to enjoy Proust or trust only their interpretations of prime research, the bulk of any audience would like a little help distilling mult-faceted, multi-stage, or multi-variable information down to comfortable picture books. As communications pieces, well-designed infographics seem to have an almost predestined virality—useful for those seeking to promote complex or semicomplex sets of information organically (read: at minimal cost). But even as key slides in otherwise heavily bulletpointed presentations, infographics provide a useful resting place for weary audiences trudging through reams of unvisualized data—not that any of us are guilty of communicating that way.

technical design & communications Occasionally, we don’t know everything about a niche industry or unique business, and we’re forced to learn. Fast. Figuring out how to communicate clearly with previously unknown-to-us audiences was once a survival technique. Now it’s an obsession. Whether it’s electrical engineers, horticulturists and agronomists, industrial purchase managers, wealthy investors and/or LPs, or some other subset of a wider population, we’ve developed standard “download” and review processes that allow us to quickly achieve relevancy and clarity with the intended audience.

Annual Reports Nothing draws on the full spectrum of design and communications abilities like an annual report project. Each page has multiple data sets, each of which must be communicated concisely in the context of the page’s story and the story of a year, in numbers, in its entirety (which must also be written). We’ve had the opportunity to lead on several annual reports and annual reportlike projects. They are an extraordinary challenge that, when well-executed, provide a truly unique opportunity for extending brand relationships, controlling messages about performance, and positively impressing stakeholders. Getting these projects done requires a significant amount of experience, project management capabilities, people skills (to get cooperation from key information providers), and, of course, pure design expertise.
