News from our last meeting – Dec. 5th The Regular Meeting of the Keezletown Ruritan Club, was called to order by President, Martha Moyers at 7:00 p.m., December 5th, 2011 at the Ruritan Hall. 40 of our 43 regular members were present Invocation was offered by David Nankivell. Elmer Michael led the group in one verse of “America”. Martha Moyers introduced special guest for the evening, Rick Keyton, 2011 District 9 Governor. This evening was our self-feed night and the appreciation night for our fair workers. Club members introduced the special guests: Cory Shifflett and his mother, Nick Shomo, Anthony Zban, Ann Royer, Debbie Miller, Betsy Peters, Becky Houff, Mary Nankivell, Twila Showalter, Glenda Adkins, Casey Ruliffson, Donna Flook, Connie Liskey and Carroll Yankey and his wife Eleanor. Special thanks to those members who organized and prepared the evening feast: Marion VanPelt, Lowell Miller, Elmer Michael, Noland Suter, Glen Knicely, Tim Long, Violet Calhoun, Dave Nankivell, Alice Ruliffson, Bubba Bailey and Larry Royer. Special thanks also to those members that stayed and assisted with the clean up. Rick Keyton, our 2011 District Governor spoke to the club briefly about his year and then inducted our 2012 club officers: Larry Royer, President, Larry Showalter, Vice President, Alice Ruliffson, Secretary and Lenora Fowler, Treasurer. Guilliams will serve his third year on the Board, Scott Dillard, second year and Bubba Bailey, first year. – Committee Reports – Citizen and Patriotism: Russ Lawrence reported that he had shipped cell phones for the Cell Phones for Soldier’s Project. Also, the dictionaries were delivered to Peak View Elementary. Social Development: Tim Long reported that the Applications for the Build Your Dollar Grant Scholarship were available for members to pick up and disburse to graduating high school seniors or college students. – Club Business – Copies of our 2011 Committee Reports were distributed to committees for review later in evening, when they outline their 2012 Objectives. Lenora requested that committees submit their 2012 Objective before leaving this evening. Lenora also requested that all members review their personal information and their ads in the 2011 Handbook and let her know of any changes. Martha reported that the board, at it’s November meeting had approved the recommendation for $500 each to Noland Suter and Martha Moyers to attend the National Convention in Raleigh, NC on January 19th thru Sunday, January 22nd. Martha Moyers will serve as secretary of the Zone 1 for 2012 and the Keezletown Club will host the Wednesday, January 11th meeting. The December Board Meeting will be held on Monday, January 2nd at

6:15, prior to the January Regular Meeting. Meeting was adjourned with the Pledge of Allegiance. Committees met to outline their 2012 Objectives. Next Meeting ~ Next regular club meeting will be February 6th at 7:00. Club Activities in Jan.
