Saturday 18 DANCE: Rock the Ballet presented by Middle GA Youth Ballet (The Douglass Theatre) MGYB dancers, who represent studios from all over middle Georgia, will perform in dances ranging from “Waltz of the Hours” to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Professional dancers Oivia Boyd and B.J. Hilburn will also perform. This show spotlights talented dancers who range in age from 12 to 18 years old across our community. MGYB is celebrating its 20th season this year! Tuesday 21 MUSIC: Fabian Concert Series presents “Brahms Clarinet Quartet (Fickling Hall on Mercer’s campus) 7:30 p.m. In an eclectic evening featuring composers old and new, Minnesota Orchestra conductor Osmo Vanska, concertmaster Erin Keefe, and assistant principal violist Becca Albers join Amy Schwartz Moretti and sophomore cellist Atticus Mellor-Goldman to perform Brahms’ great clarinet quintet. Vendors sell handmade or homegrown goods from Middle Georgia. Featuring food trucks, live music and a petting zoo. FREE! CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL: Ocmulgee Duck Dash (Amerson Waterworks Park) 10:30-noon. Purchase ducks from Big Brothers Big Sisters, Crisis Line & Safe House, and the event website. All of the ducks will be placed in the Ocmulgee River at the same time. The person who purchased the winning duck will take home $1,000! 2nd and 3rd place ducks will also win prizes. Ducks are $5 each. CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL: Annual Bed Race and Firefighter competition (Third Street Park) 1-3 p.m. Chuckle if you will, but these speed machines are serious! The Bed Race is open to anyone who wants to get in on the fun and excitement of old fashioned bed racing.
