RICARDO BERNAL, TENOR
Ricardo Bernal, Tenor Tenor of beautiful voice and exquisite style, Ricardo Bernal was born in Mexico City. He studied at the National Conservatory of Music with Irma Gonzalez and Enrique Jasso. and vocal training with Viorica Cortes.

He makes his debut at the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico with Beppe in Pagliacci at the age of 18. He wins the first contest prize Pacific Voices of San Francisco (California) and continued his studies at "San Francisco Opera House" (Merola Program) where he makes his debut in Falstaff of G. Verdi playing the role of Fenton. He also toured in United States with the operetta Die Fledermaus by J. Strauss. He takes part in the most important opera theaters in Costa Rica, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, Panama and Mexico. He wins first prize in several competitions, such as "Kaffe Peters" Vienna, the national phase of the competition "Operalia II" and contest Francisco Alonso de Madrid. In 1996 he studied at the Opern Studio in Zürich (Switzerland) and in the following year he entered in the Zurich Theatre Ensemble. Also, from 1998-2001 Ricardo Bernal sings in Theaters Bonn, Trier, Saarbrücken (Germany). Also around this time he was invited to sing in other German cities such as Berlin, Konstanz, Desau, and Köln. He sings at Covent Garden (London) the opera Otello by G. Rossini (Rodrigo), then toured Denmark (Copenhagen Theatre) and other cities singing this role. He also sings I Capuletti e i Montecchi by V. Bellini in Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and toured Mexico and the United States singing L'Elisir d'amore by G. Donizetti. In the same way, he sings Rigoletto (Duca) in Mexico, "The eternal song" by Sorozábal Teatro Español de Madrid and at the Peralada Festival. In 2006, RIcardo Bernal sings at the Teatro Real in Madrid the role of Rodolfo in "La Bohème" by Puccini with Conductor David Jiménez and production of Giancarlo de Monaco.
In January 2007, he sings the role of Adriano di Monfort in "Il crociato in Egitto" by Meyerbeer at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice. With the Spanish National Orchestra conducted by Josep Pons, he sings the difficult role of "The Fattuchiera" by Cuyás at the National Auditorium of Madrid. In February 2008, he sings the role of the "Italian tenor" in "Der Rosenkavalier" by R. Strauss, conducted by Fabio Luisi with Patricia Ciofi at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria he sings "Thais" (Nicias) with Inva Mula. In Marseille Opera he sings "Requiem" by G. Verdi conducted by Pinchas Steinberg and Dolora Zajick, Adine Aaron and Carlo Colombara. In December 2009 he sang La Traviata by G. Verdi in Montpellier and Marseille. In 2010, some of his most important performances are: - "Maria Stuarda" at the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli with Mariella Devia. - "The Merry Widow" at San Carlo di Napoli. - La Bohème in Palma de Mallorca. - Concerts at the Radio Music Festival Montpellier - Mozart's Requiem in Catania and Palermo. - La Traviata in Bari. - The Merry Widow in Verona.
