Top Chef Prepares Special Menu for Lovers For couples, lovers and guests, one of New Zealand’s top chefs has made a special menu for LOVE IN THE AIR Post Valentine Dinner Show on March 2, 2013 at Fickling Convention Centre. Chef Fernan Bautista has 15 years’ experience in Shangrila Mactan and currently works in one of the finest hotels in Auckland. He specializes in Chinese and European cuisines. “We will have a nice concoction of soup as starter. Then it’ll be fish, beef and pork cooked in a way that will delight the taste buds. Of course that goes with rice,” says the award-winning chef. Chef Fernan was awarded in the New Zealand Culinary Competition in 2010 and 2011. He was featured in Hospitality and Catering Magazine in 2009 and 2010. The Filipino chef appeared in Choice Food TV in 2012 and The Crowd Goes Wild in 2009. “We had a food tasting and truly we were delighted with what Chef Fernan prepared,” said Food Committee chair Debbie Libre, “I’m sure all our guests will love these.” Also confirming their participation in the sold out affair are Philippine Consul General Paulo Garcia and Auckland Sinulog prime mover Miriam Batucan who are expected to express their creative thoughts about love. Music for Lovers Only If the saxophone music of Evan Reid isn’t enough, then LOVE IS IN THE AIR Post Valentine Dinner Show has invited some of the finest performers in Katilingbang Bisaya sa New Zealand to serenade couples, lovers and guests. OBG consisting of Alvin Soniega, Dexter Ycong and Mel B Libre will each sing one romantic song. They will be joined by Rex Yap, Gail Cooke and Pat Amiscua. The songs included in the music list are “Your Song”, “Be My Lady”, “Somewhere in Time”, “The Way We Were” and “Endless Love”. They will then sing in chorus the event’s theme song, “Love is in the Air”. The affair won’t be complete without disco dancing. KBNZ favorite DJ DXTR has lined up great dance music that should bring to the dance floor both young and old alike.
