As the Meeker Recreation Center re-opens from our annual maintenance shutdown on August 21, we’ll dive head first into the start of the school year and fall programming. Be sure to sign up early for school year programs including Dance, Tumbling, and Karate classes (pgs. 16-18, 12), as well as all the other Tiny Tot through Active Adult programs and activities this fall. In an effort to make the navigation of this guide a little easier, notice that within the Line-Up there is a new section for formal programs offered to all ages (pg. 12) versus community-wide special events (pg. 9). One special event you won’t want to miss is the relocated and expanded Fall Festival, which will be coupled with a grand opening celebration of the newly remodeled Town Park at 20 South 4th St. (corner of Water and 4th St.) on September 30. See page 10 for more details. This event, still coordinated by Mountain Valley Bank and sponsored by WREA and ERBM, will move to this bigger location in 2017 to accommodate as much FUNdraising games and tent spaces as possible for our local non-profit groups. The day will also include a short ceremony to show the Town Park renovation project to the community. ERBM is proud to have invested into the enhancement of this signature park location along our beloved White River. We hope the renovations will provide an improved experience to residents and the myriad of out of town visitors to this park location. See you on September 30!
