About — An interdisciplinary design studio


Media Objectives is an interdisciplinary design studio uniquely housed within Valerio Dewalt Train, an award-winning architectural firm based in Chicago, San Francisco and Palo Alto. We are grounded by the belief that meaningful experiences are created with great design. From the environments we inhabit to the brands and digital/printed media we encounter, design defines what we see, how we feel and what we think. More simply, it defines our connections. With this in mind, our objective is twofold:

1. Leverage design to better connect people to spaces, brands and ideas. 2. To apply our craft to create fully integrated experiences across all design mediums. Together, these objectives are foundational to who we are as a design studio and everything we do. We like to call them our whole M.O.

Our process is collaborative, grounded by research, and agile enough to be calibrated to the unique needs of every project.


Process Our process is defined by five phases, each with a clear purpose. It serves as our compass in creating innovative and insight-driven solutions that exceed client expectations and elevate experiences. Discover Conducting research to identify objectives, challenges, opportunities, insights and drivers to fuel creative exploration. The Discover phase is foundational to any project, no matter the end deliverable. It encompasses carrying out a comprehensive brand audit and audience exploration and may entail stakeholder interviews, client workshops, and customer journey-mapping.

Ideate & Test Explore testable platforms that can inform the strategic direction. Ideate & Test is activated by the research outcome of phase one, in addition to creative and competitive audits conducted by the creative team. Testing may involve qualitative and/or quantitative research methods.

Prescribe Develop and determine the most fitting creative strategy and its execution. This phase typically entails a presentation of 2-3 strategic directions to be considered by the client. The selected strategy/execution will ground all expressions of the brand.

Translate Define the strategy’s visual, verbal and experiential expression across all applications. The project scope will dictate which applications are to be developed, and may include environmental, print and/or digital applications.

Realize Finalize an implementation plan and deliver a successful outcome. The Realize phase is about bringing the translation to life and making the design real. It requires close collaboration with all vendors and project collaborators to ensures proper execution of all design applications.
