2006 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO LOWE’S #48 NASCAR JIMMY JOHNSON SPRINT CUP ROAD RACING CAR
Jimmy Johnson began the 2006 season with a bang, winning the Daytona 500, taking second place at California Speedway and then winning again in the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 at Las Vegas. Johnson went on to score victories at the Brickyard 400, Martinsville and Talladega, becoming the only driver in NASCAR history to win at least three races in his first five seasons, in the process securing the first of five championships so far in his NASCAR career and winning the 2006 Driver of the Year award.
The Number 48 Lowes Monte Carlo Sprint Cup race car offered here was driven by Johnson in that year’s AMD at Watkins Glen, which saw 10 cautions and 14 lead changes in a typically eventful road race. Sold on bill of sale, the car is exactly as raced at the Glen, complete with a fresh authentic Hendrick-built 358 CI Chevrolet small block engine and fresh 4-speed heavy duty manual transmission. Besides being a rolling showcase of contemporary NASCAR technology, the car also incorporates
personalized little details that hint at Johnson’s can-do personality.
