Built to Endure: How a 156-Year Business Reflects the American Story

As our nation prepares to celebrate 250 years of independence, we at M Davis & Sons find ourselves reflecting on a different yet connected milestone: more than 156 years of continuous family leadership since our founding in 1870

America’s story is one of grit, growth, and generations building upon the foundation laid before them Ours is much the same

When our company began operations just five years after the end of the Civil War, the country was being rebuilt Industries were forming Infrastructure was expanding Opportunity was there for those willing to work hard That spirit of determination shaped our first generation of leadership and continues to guide us today as a fifth-generation family business

The U S Constitution created a framework designed to endure It established principles that could evolve while remaining grounded in core values Similarly, M Davis & Sons has adapted across decades of economic shifts, technological advances, and industry transformation, all while holding firm to the values that built our reputation: Craftsmanship, Character, Commitment, Opportunity, Innovation, and Legacy.

Each new generation of leadership has been passed down a tremendous responsibility to maintain these values and create sustainable growth for the future Just as the Constitution is entrusted to each new generation of Americans, our company’s legacy is entrusted to each new generation of leaders and team members

In 2026, communities across the country commemorate this historic anniversary, we will be celebrating too Not just America’s past, but the opportunity ahead The opportunity to continue building and manufacturing The opportunity to embrace innovation while honoring tradition The opportunity to carry forward our values

Here’s to 250 years of American resilience and to the continued strength of a 156-year-old business proud to be part of that story
