The study of Muslim family law (MFL), as the most widely applied family law system in the world today, has two main objectives: to verify and document the scope and manner of the application of MFL around the world; and to explore and substantiate possibilities of MFL reform within particular communities of Muslims in their specific cultural, theological, legal and institutional context.
