Emma: What’s the matter with Linda? She’s washed out! Roy: She has just known that her father has passed away. *washed out: pale, tired and ill *passed away: died

LUCY: I keep on with difficulties to sleep at night, doctor. DOCTOR: I know, Lucy. There is a lot of it going around currently. There are so many worries around us that maintain us in a state of alert. I’ll put you on some tablets that will knock you out. Please, be careful if you have to drive the day after. LUCY: How long do I have to take them? DOCTOR: Try not to come off them until our next appointment which will take place in ten days.

My friend Jane was terminally ill. She was diagnosed with cancer and the treatment she was receiving took a lot out of her. She didn’t have enough time to build herself up from a session of chemotherapy and other. I hope she now rests in peace.

(Dedicated to my friend Juani, who died in September 2013)
