Dusty & Charlie
I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord...
Thank you for taking a few moments to get to know us and our family. We are Charlie and Dusty. We have a 13 year old daughter, Allie, from Dusty’s previous marriage. Charlie is adopted, so adoption is something that we have discussed for several years and is near and dear to our hearts. While, we have no idea what journey you are currently walking, please know that we admire your decision to choose adoption. Without your sacrifice, we would not be able to grow our family. We cannot imagine the decisions that you are facing or will face in the months ahead, but know that we are praying for you and hope that you are supported and loved by the ones around you. We are praying that you have a peace only God can provide as you make this decision. Should you choose to bless us with such a precious gift, know that we will cherish him or her and provide unending love. We will provide a safe, happy, home with lots of laughter and memories. You will always be a part of our story. We promise to respect and honor you and make sure that your baby knows of your sacrificial love for them. We found this quote and hope it offers you peace. “Not everyone will understand your journey. That’s fine. It is not their journey to make sense of-it’s yours.” As the journey continues, remember that we are praying for you and your baby throughout your pregnancy and that you have a peace on whatever family you decide upon. God Bless,
Charlie and Dusty
This Is Us Oddly Enough...we met on-line. Dusty took a dare from a friend and here we are! Our first day was to a restaurant in the town we currently live in and then a drive to see Christmas lights. At that time, Charlie lived nearly two hours away. So, we had many late night conversations getting to know each other. We dated 9 months before we got married. When ya know, ya know!

All about Me
I am 38 years old and truly a kid at heart. I work from home as a salesman for a professional fireworks company. Yep, I get paid to blow things up! What man would not have that as a dream job? I enjoy what I do and getting to meet people from all over the US.
My siblings and I were adopted when I was a little over a year old. So, adoption has always been something that I wanted to do. I have always wanted to give a child the same chances that I have had in life. I enjoy traveling for work because I get to experience things that I otherwise would not (i.e. Super Bowls, making it snow, fairs, Mardi Gras, and all kinds of events). I love being able to take Dusty and Allie along with me for many of the trips I take. I also like going on cruises and seeing different ports. I hope to soon be able to travel to China to meet fireworks vendors that supply my company. If I am not working, you can often find me watching YouTube videos of fireworks shows from around the world. I also enjoy spending time outside bird watching and playing with Jack, our family Dog.
From Dusty’s Heart
I have said that Charlie is my “big kid”. He is fun loving, makes me smile, adores Allie, and keeps me grounded. He knows when I have had a bad day and does his best to make it better. He loves big and is my best half.
Charlie already is a great parent to Allie. I have loved seeing their relationship grow and develop over the past several years. The word “no” doesn’t usually come out of his mouth in regards to Allie (she might have him wrapped around her little finger), but will be firm when he needs to be. He has desired a child of his own for a long time. I know he will spoil this baby, be an awesome Christian father, and be the one to always provide the fun.
I am 38 years old and have been an educator for 17+ years. I am currently an assistant principal at an elementary school. I LOVE my job. I enjoy seeing little faces each day and know that I make a difference in their lives. I have often said, that they teach me more than they get from a lesson in the classroom.
I like reading, putting my toes in the sand at the beach (it is my happy, stress free place), and spending time with my family and friends. I have always wanted a lot of children, but that did not happen as I planned. When Charlie and I got married, we tried to have a baby and went through infertility treatments to try to grow our family. Those efforts did not work and I had a hysterectomy. Over the past year, God has worked on my heart to adopt a child. Our daughter (mine from a previous marriage) would make comments that would pull at my heart. I knew that Charlie was ready to adopt, it just took me a little longer to see God’s plan than it did him.
Dusty is the love of my life and has the most beautiful brown eyes. She is the type of person that keeps me grounded and rom harlie s eart helps me set realistic goals. I love her because she is the opposite of everything I THOUGHT I wanted...God’s plan was way better than mine! She has ways of making me smile by doing sweet gestures, even though she thinks she is not lovey dovey.
My Wife F
Dusty has a great mothering instinct and can always tell when something is wrong. I have watched her parent Allie, and I can say that she is an awesome mom. She is a planner, so she never forgets the small details. She is a good Christian woman, and I know that she will instill those values in our children.
Allie Allie is a tender hearted teenager, with her mother’s stubbornness. She loves little ones and hanging out with her friends. She plays volleyball. Disney World and the beach are two of her favorite places to go. She also likes musicals; and has since she was a little girl. She has seen Mary Poppins, the Lion King, Wicked, and a few others. Allie is very excited about becoming a big sister and will be TON of help with a little one. We can not wait to see their relationship grow!
Our 4 bedroom and 2.5 bathroom home is situated in the country. Just beyond our back yard is a cotton field and cows. Part of our yard is fenced in so that our dog Jack has an area to roam and play without getting into trouble. We can’t wait to add a swing set for our new little one to enjoy.
We live about 5 minutes from our schools. We would consider our community rural because of the farm land and tractors that are on the roads. However, we are only 10 minutes away from a mid sized city that offers lots of shopping and entertainment amenities! There are numerous local parks that are kid friendly and we also have a great water park in town. There are local organizations that provide little league sport opportunities. Many of our local churches provide Upward sports league for basketball, football, and cheer-leading as well.
Dusty’s side of the family is quite large. When we get together there is usually 25 people just for simple dinners. Her family is a combination of brothers, sisters, step parents, step siblings, nieces, nephews, and aunts. There is never a dull moment. When Charlie started coming around, he was a little shell shocked at all the people. Charlie’s family is smaller. He has a sister that he is extremely close to and loves her two children dearly. He talks to his dad and birth mom and sees them on occasion. Although we do not get to see Charlie’s family often due to distance, we enjoy the time when we are together.
Traditions We have a HUGE Thanksgiving meal with our family at the family barn. We also look forward to our family cookie bake and we also put up sweet corn together every Year. We also spend Christmas Eve at the barn with the reading of the Christmas Story from Luke 2. At Easter we enjoy a large family Easter egg hunt.
We have been blessed with a small circle of friends that we are close to and a
larger circle of family that live on the
same road. Our friends are special parts of our lives and will certainly continue to
play a special part in our children’s lives as well. We enjoy going to dinner and just
hanging out and letting our kids play. We have a few friends that we enjoy take trips with occasionally. All of our friends are excited about our adoption and can’t wait to love on this little one as well.
We are looking forward to the future of our family with great anticipation.
We promise to always love this child unconditionally.
encourage him/her in whatever they may pursue. Family vacations is something we will certainly enjoy. We can’t wait to see Allie be a big sister and to watch
their relationship grow. And above all, we will strive to teach him or her to see Christ above all things.
We would like to thank you for taking the
time to view our book and get to know a little about us and our family. Please know that we praying for you. We would be honored
to be chosen to parent your sweet baby. We are praying for peace as you make this most important decision.
