EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

AGE: 0–5 years

The foundation of a happy adulthood begins at the youngest age. Recent brain and child development research confirms what we at the Children’s Center have long believed: the care and stimulation that young children receive is critical to every aspect of their futures. PART-DAY PROGRAM Our Part-Day Program welcomes children into a preschool setting that prepares them for school success. At the Children’s Center, your child builds relationships with their peers and teachers through engaging educational experiences in their classroom and in the community. Children participate in activities such as swimming lessons, gym, music, the arts and more.

FULL-DAY PROGRAM Our Full-Day Program supports families yearround in a partnership to nurture children’s development through play-based learning. Here, children from 0 to 5-years-old establish friendships that continue year-after-year and learning is a hands-on experience, ensuring children are ready for kindergarten.

HEAD START In May 2017, we opened our first early learning satellite center in partnership with Childcare Network of Evanston. Our Head Start Program is located in Evanston’s 5th Ward to ensure all children ages 3–5 are ready for kindergarten by building curriculum around children’s interests and developmental stages. Family members are valued as partners in supporting their children’s learning and growth.

summer 2019 CAMP ECHO

REGISTRATION OPENS NOVEMBER 2018

Overnight camp in Fremont, Michigan. GRADE: 3rd–8th grade* MAIN CAMP

GRADE: 9th–11th grade* ON-SITE TEENS

Since 1924, young campers have enjoyed the wonders of summer camp on Camp Echo’s incredible peninsula location. “The Peninsula” remains the focal point of our traditional summer camp programs, which develop young campers through various camp activities, such as sailing, archery, arts & crafts, and more. Campers grow personally and learn to enjoy independence in a safe environment, while also working with their cabin mates to develop into a caring and successful group during their time together at Camp Echo.

Camp Echo’s on-site teen programs offer older campers increased independence and responsibility, with some of the familiarity and routine of traditional summer camp. Camp Echo’s teen leadership programs are focused on preparing participants to become successful leaders in the camping environment and beyond. Participants work together to further their understanding of what it means to be a leader and how to facilitate successful groups of campers and peers, while taking on an increasingly active counseling role.

GRADE: 6th–12th grade* ADVENTURE TRIPS

ALL AGES

Camp Echo’s Adventure Trips are an experience unlike any other: kayaking among Lake Huron’s thousands of islands, cycling through northern Michigan’s breathtaking scenery, backpacking through spectacular Porcupine Mountains of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and the list goes on. Camp Echo’s Adventure trips take the fun, community, and growth opportunities (self-confidence, group living, leadership, and technical outdoor skills) of summer camp on the road and expose participants to a whole new world of experiences.

FAMILY CAMP Strengthen family ties, become part of a community of families, and make memories that will last a lifetime. Enjoy all of Camp Echo’s wonderful activities with your family and others!
