Design Selection Evaluation

Finish Selections

All materials were chosen due to their environmentally friendly characteristics and manufacturing processes. Most finishes chosen contribute to LEED Credits for being environmentally conscious.

Color Selection

Colors are very toned down with no color being exceedingly bright. Colors also are light and give the space more of an airy and spacious feeling thus calming patients. The darker tones used in the Hygienist and Operatory spaces set them apart and give a more comforting feeling.

Curtain Walls in Operatory and Hygienist Spaces

These massive one-way windows along the Northern walls in the operatory and hygienist spaces allows natural sunlight and a beautiful view of an outdoor Zen garden. These elements will help the patient feel more eased using natural elements as well as allowing for use of daylighting.

Element of Line

The use of organic and curvilinear lines has been achieved in the curving reception desk that flows nicely into the clinical spaces as well as providing nice flowing circulation. These lines will also give the space a more contemporary feel.

Material Selections

The materials I chose are very contemporary and have a nice modern aesthetic to them. Nice coordinating colors with a variety of textures and finishes will draw the eye and show the trendy and aesthetically pleasing nature of the project.
