Students will learn to read, perform and compose musical notation, as well as learn about and perform on various classroom instruments. In addition to reading music, singing and playing instruments, the students will study music from a variety of cultures, the instruments of the orchestra and music history. This music class is designed to be a fun and positive musical experience for all involved in the program. MCA is thrilled to offer music instruction to home school students for this school year and hopes to continue and expand the program for years to come. This activity is made possible in part by a grant provided by the Minnesota State Arts Board, through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature from the Minnesota arts and cultural heritage fund with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008.
