Spotlighting achieving women Because they’re worth it!

What a great way to honour women who are doing it against all odds. Pearlwoman as a magazine focused on presenting women beautiful and deserving as they are, we’re proud to be Divas of colour’s official magazine. What a beautiful platform to continue to promote and encourage women of all ages and background.

Charity profiles

Divas of colour 2016 is exceptionally special to us and every woman being the year of focusing on the primary duty of the woman ; nurturing and protecting her young. Divas of colour with their chosen charity Girl Child Network and Star Children Initiative is on mission to raise awareness on the importance of protecting the child, especially their dignity amongst many other ways. We cannot over emphasize the impact of a well nurtured, cared for and protected childhood can make in a life of anyone. When children are well cared for and protected, they grow up to become caring, loving and achieving adults in their lifetime. Like I’ve always said, “protecting the dignity and image of the child is as important as providing food and shelter for them. Let us stop the ridiculing of our children in the name of charity aid. I believe that children can be supported, fed, and protected without damaging their esteem, without reducing them to mere animals. The continuous portrayal of the Black child as a subhuman has to stop. This is why it’s necessary for every well meaning woman to attend this year’s Divas of colour for us to deliberate on the best ways to provide and care for our children without using them for ridicule. This is your chance to make an impact , join us and women from around the globe on the 26th March 2016 at Hilton Hotel Tower Bridge London.

TED talk focussed on multigenerational issues in the workplace. Muriel Angele Kakoni tutors in primary school and college. She is of French Afro Caribbean heritage. She has helped set up and run a children’s charity aiming at giving children from deprived communities greater aspirations. She has a real passion for children and young people and her mission is to help them live a purpose driven life. She believes that children “don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care!”. She is also an entrepreneur. Divas of colour 2016 focuses on the importance of protecting the child in support of the efforts of it’s chosen charities, Girl Child Network Worldwide and Star Children Initiative. Especially the dignity and image of the African child. Divas of colour believes that decades of unchecked activities of so many charities have done so much bad than good in damaging the self esteem of African children. “As much as we try to clothe and feed them physically, we also have to understand that their dignity and self esteem is as important.” This year’s younger speakers have clear understanding of the needs of this generation’s children’s needs. With their expertise, they will be able to emphasise on these issues raising awareness and educating the adults on ways to protect the child both emotionally, psychologically and physically.
