Writing: Your final media kit must be free of typos and grammatical errors

Design (50 Points) This project will require you to make many design decisions. I am not going to tell you what fonts or photos to use. However, these are all crucial decisions and you should put thought into all the design decisions based on message, audience and medium.

• Attractive design theme reflective of your topic/subject • Attractive and appropriate color choices and its effective execution (you must use color in every media kit document) • Unified theme throughout four media kit materials (Each of the four pieces fits the design theme, yet could function as a standalone item) • Use logo and an image (either computer graphics or a picture) on every media kit material • Appropriate font choices • Overall typography design (Well-­‐organized content clean and professional design) • Good use of design principles (alignment, proportion, proximity, contrast, repetition) • Appropriate and attractive use of logo, photos and computer graphics • Provide proper attribution if you need to use any information and picture from another source either at the bottom of the document or as a photo credit (whichever is appropriate) • All items must be legible Hints: Fact sheet and brochure are usually text-­‐heavy but make good use of pictures and computer graphics in these two publications. Flyer and postcard need to be visually interesting, with few essential text.

Submission format -­‐ both electronic and printed format (10 points) • You will hand in a package of items including printed color documents of all four items (Fact sheet, Postcard, Flyer, Brochure); Place everything in a 9 x 12-­‐in envelope. Do NOT staple the pages together; Write your name and media kit subject on the envelop; • Submit electronic file (InDesign document) in D2L Dropbox (folder: project2). Save your InDesign document as “firstname-­‐lastname-­‐mediakit.indd”
