WHY STUDY SPANISH AT LAURIER?
Studying Spanish at Laurier will offer you the opportunity to experience the latest methods in language learning while applying your knowledge through creative projects. After completing your first year, you will be able to study abroad with a Laurier faculty member during the summer. There is nothing that compares to experiencing the Spanish language and culture in its own setting! While developing your language skills you will grow in awareness of cultural nuances and the uniqueness of textual and artistic representations.
• The Spanish program at Laurier is the sole Canadian representative of the Official Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Madrid (OCCIM). Get the Official Certificate for Basic Business Spanish, by taking our Spanish for Business courses, and write the OCCIM exam here at Laurier. Our students have a 97 per cent success rate in the exam for more than 18 years. Join the success!

This annual spring credit course is an all-inclusive, international immersion experience in a Spanish-speaking country, led by a Laurier faculty member. Fluency and listening comprehension are further developed through constant interaction in Spanish not only in the classroom but also through host families, community members and cultural immersion. Get a true understanding of the local culture through guided tours and day trips, which complement themes learned in and out of the classroom.
