Growing up, my interests have always gravitated towards discovery and creations. My philosophy as a landscape designer revolves around creating unique spaces that engages the user sensually, mentally, and physically; a space where they can discover truth and beauty within themselves and their surroundings. Through my travels and years of education, I learned that landscape is a universal variable that connects people and it is that discovery that drives my passion as a landscape designer. This portfolio is a compilation of undergraduate and professional work. There is a variety of work ranging from small scale residential to large scale urban planning showing my skills as a designer to create solutions in a way that explores new ideas.

PRIVATE RESIDENCE DESIGN-BUILD

A collection of projects I am currently working on in a professional practice. As a design build firm, I am involved in the whole procress of landscape construction starting with design. Once design is complete, I take over as project management and oversee the construction of the site. In my design, I focus on creating bold, elegant landscape design which emphasize on sustainability. My design also blur the boundary between interior and exterior spaces to create one beautiful space. Using form and texture, we can create engagable landscapes which is highlighted by drought tolerant sculptural plants.

A SENSE OF SELF

URBAN DESIGN | WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA *In collaboration with WeHo Redevelopment

The city of West Hollywood has become the thriving core of LGBT community in Los Angeles. This project aims to revitalize a section of the community, adjacent to the Pacific Design Center and the proposed Melrose Triangle. We proposed a LGBT museum honoring the history of the community and its pride in West Hollywood. The landscape strategies was to signify the process or the self-acceptance of those “coming out�. These three plaza spaces revolved around the idea of mind, body, and soul.

Within the site lies a historical building called “The Factory” which became famous for housing the trailblazing gay disco known as Studio One. Our goal was to preserve the ideals it stood for and honor it by proposing a LGBT museum featured inside a mixed use plaza. The goal of the courtyard spaces are designed for the user to experience the emotional stages a person would go through in the act of “coming out of the closet”. The user experience are controlled by the pace of the courtyard which are impacted by their adjacent buildings.
