A Meeting of Florets is a piece composed for prepared piano. This piece was created with the inspiration of a computer generated graphic of a L-system. The L-system looked like a small gathering of florets blowing in a gentle breeze. The L-system was also used to create the form of the piece. A Meeting of Florets has a total of five motifs that get transposed in different ways based on the natural creation of the L-system. This causes the piece to unfold very slowly and also gives the performer many different paths in which he/she can choose to play or skip. Each page is unique and each page has several options that can cause the piece to unwind in a variety of ways.
