America’s National Wonders National Parks and Other National Wonders

A​ ​is for Acadia National Park

Acadia National Park is found in Maine. Here there are many hiking trails, recreational water activities, that means that  people swim, fish, boat, and so other activities there.        


B ​ ​is for Badlands National Park

In North Dakota, you will find Badlands National Park. It is called this because of the extremely cold temperatures, lack of water,  and bad terrains.     


C ​is for Congaree National Park

The amazing swamp-like forest called Congaree National Park is found in South Carolina. Here you can go Canoeing, hiking,  fishing, and more!   


D ​is for Dry Tortugas National Park

Before it was this go-to place for tourists, it was known in the 1900s as Fort Jefferson. In Florida Dry Tortugas National Park is  a must see place.       


E ​is for Everglades National Park

Everglades National Park is located in Florida many animals such as alligators and crocodiles live here.         


F ​ ​is for Fort Sumter National Monument

Fort Sumter, North Carolina once an active fort one hundred and fifty years ago during the American Civil War. The only way to  access the fort is by boat because it is out in the middle of a bay.         


G ​is for Grand Teton National Park

Grand Teton National Park is in Northwestern Wyoming, and here there are many historic buildings, hiking trail, amazing  things to see (like up in the picture) and more.     


H ​is for Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Do you want to see a real volcano? Well in Hawaii National Park you can see the lava pour out of the volcano in Hawaii.         


I ​is for Isle Royale National Park

On the Borders of Lake Michigan is Isle Royale National Park in Michigan, where you can do various recreational water activities.       


J ​is for Joshua Tree National Park

Joshua Tree National Park is a desert-like terrain that you can  camp, hike, and even hike with your dogs.         


K ​is for Kenai Fjords National Park

Kenai Fjords National Park is in Alaska and there is can reach 30 below 0 that’s cold.       


L ​is for Lake Clark National Park and Reserve

Lake Clark National Park has two active volcanoes, plus you can watch some grizzly bears out in the wild, it’s called bear  watching. 


M ​is for Mesa Verde National Park

Mesa Verde National Park was once home to Native Americans, and they carved each building out of the side of the mountain.      


N ​is for North Cascade National Park

At one time around 300 glaciers covered North Cascade National Park, making it a winter wonderland and full of skiing places.       


O ​is for Olympic National Park

In Washington, you will find Olympic National Park and here you will find many mountains, hiking trails, and scenic views.         


P ​is for Petrified Forest National Park

Out in Arizona, you will find Petrified Forest National Park, which is just a big open field with lots of tall hills and is a great  spot for hiking.       


Q ​is for Quillayute Needles National Wildlife Reserve

This National Wildlife Reserve is home to many types of birds, sea otters, California Sea Lion, and the Harbor Seal.       


R ​is for Redwood National Park

Out in California in Redwood National Park you will find the world's tallest tree called Hyperion which makes all of the other  trees look small. Hyperion is 379 feet tall while the average  redwood tree is 300 feet tall.     


S ​is for Sequoia National Park

This park has the biggest tree in volume, called General Sherman.         


T ​is for Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Here in North Dakota, you will find a piece of the great plains with bison and other prairie animals.       


U ​is for Upper Missouri River Breaks

Upper Missouri River breaks is in the same place that Lewis and Clark explored, and not much has changed.         


V ​is for Virgin Islands National Park

After Christopher Columbus found the islands it was almost like a gold rush for land. Many cultures fought over these islands but  in the end, they are a U.S. territory.       


W ​is for Wrangell St. Elias National Park and Reserve

In Alaska you will find America’s biggest National Park, it is very cold and very windy here.           


X ​is for Saint Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church

Saint Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church is found in Mobile  Alabama and it is not a National Park but is a National historic  building, and was founded in 1868.     


Y ​is for Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park has a prairie-like environment and has mountains and forests, plus it is famous for its geysers.         


Z ​is for Zion National Park

Zion National Park was Utah's first National Park and is also a great place to hike, go camping, and just enjoy the outdoors.         


America has many beautiful National Park, also the United States has many gorgeous  National Wonders. These book has  consisted of National Parks, National  historic buildings, and National Monuments.  These parks represent the beautiful things  that America hold in nature. Plus each  National Park has lots of history behind it  and they have many activities to do today.
