A Person Who Has Made a Difference: My Grandson By Sasa Mierzvinski ESL 1220 Croatia

Family Friends and

My grandson was born on October 24, 2010. His name is Jayden. At first, I did not know how this new baby would affect my life. I was thinking about him crying in middle of the night, or my wife will dedicate all her time to him. All this thinking disappeared when I saw him the first time in the hospital and took him in my hands. Today when I walk into the house, first thing I do is look for him, his big blue eyes, and his big smile. Even though he cannot speak, I think I understand those giggly words that he is trying to say, “Hi Grandpa.” Just seeing him is enough to melt my heart and whatever happened through that day will fade away. His smile definitely can help me to overcome problems in everyday life. In conclusion, this is the first time that someone is making a big difference in my life after a long time.

“I Love You, Mom” By Ni Ketut Kumala Dewi ESL 1320 Indonesia “I Love You, Mom.” Life can be easy, but it also can be tough sometimes. Many obstacles will come into our lives without reasons. Some people will give up their dreams because they can’t find the solution to their problems, but my mom treats all her problems as challenges to become a better person. I love my mom because of her intelligence, her strength and her caring nature. She often receives achievement awards because of her intelligence at her workplace. Her strength totally amazes me. At fourteen years old, my grandfather sent Mom alone to Jakarta for a better education. Although young, she handled all of life’s problems by herself. She worked as a dance teacher to support her life. Life was not easy, but she handled every obstacle. Her caring nature is what I love the most about my mom. I never realized how much she had sacrificed for me in the past. She always woke up early in the morning to prepare my family’s food. She barely slept when I was sick, and she always listened to all my stories and helped me find solutions to all my problems. Even though many years have passed and we are separated by many miles, my mom is always in my heart. Luckily with the technology that we have now, Mom and I can talk every week although it never feels enough for me. Mom remains the most important person in my life. Every day, I want to thank her for what she has done and still does for me. I love and miss her so much.
