1. Ext. OUTSIDE SPACE CAMP- DAY

1.

An image of the ground is shown, the ground is covered in puddles which are rippling from the heavy rain. A body LARRY falls into a puddle with a splash followed by a duffel bag and a space helmet. Larry looks up to see SGT. SHAFT wearing a hat with an unusually large brim and other CADETS cadets wearing their silver shiny uniforms, with short shorts laughing. It becomes apparent that Sgt. Shaft threw Larry and his belongings into the puddle. SGT. SHAFT Your a disgrace son! You’ll never wear the uniform. CADET Its embarrassing to think of you as an astronaut. All Cadets laugh and smack the butt of the cadet who spoke, who receives it well, but Sgt. Shaft maintains composure and continues to glare at Larry. SGT. SHAFT Never in my 12 years of training, 4 years of modeling, 3 years as the drummer for the Stones and my internship at Enron have I ever seen such an outrageous display cowardliness. You will never set foot on the moon, that I can guarantee you. I promise you son you will never even step another 50 feet within this fine establishment. Do you understand me son? Larry slowly gets up, obviously in pain from the fall LARRY How old are you? SGT. SHAFT 54 and still young! Cadet 2 runs into scene carrying a cane. CADET 2 Sir! You forgot your cane at the base and i know how your hip locks up when it rains!

2. SGT. SHAFT Damnit cadet can’t you see I’m.... Shaft’s hip cracks and he howls in pain and takes the cane. When he turns to continue his grill of Larry, Larry is standing awkwardly close to him so that he is under the brim of Shaft’s hat. SGT. SHAFT What in hell are you doing? LARRY Well its raining and I just didn’t want to get anymore we... Shaft pushes Larry back into the puddle. SGT. SHAFT Now do I make myself clear? You will never go into space. LARRY No sir. Ive always wanted to go into space and I will. SGT. SHAFT Get out of my sight you disgrace. Shaft turns and walks back into the camp followed by the Cadets who banter about having a pillow fight the coming night. Larry attempts to run after them but he trips and falls into a puddle. The gate to space camp closes. Larry beings to awkwardly cry. Scene fades out. CUT TO: 2. INT. LARRY’S HOUSE- DAY

The scene cuts to the kitchen where Larry’s mom is sitting eating her breakfast talking to Larry’s dad who is reading the newspaper. His face is not visible. Larry’s mom and dad move closer together making kissing noices. The whole time the news paper covers Larry’s dad’s face. The two go behind the news papaer and begin moaning. Larry storms off to his room. LARRY’S DAD Boy get back here were gunna talk about this! Come here now.. ahhhhhh! (Larry’s mom inflicts some kind of pain on him) Ok ok come back in 15... ahhhhh! ok 30 minutes. Larry returns to his room, getting a better look at his room which covered in posters of shuttles, rockets, and astronauts. It’s also filled with modles and mobiles of planets and other space parafnelia. Larry draws his shades and puts a towel under his door crack. He then pulls out a bong and begins to smoke. Fade out. Fade in to a smokey room where Larry goes through many differnet trips. First he tares down a poster but then feaks out because he got a paper cut. Next Larry starts to talk to him self. LARRY You dont need it. Your better than all of em! Next trip Larry tries to destroy a model rocket by throwing it against the wall but instead puts a hole in the wall.
