Media experience Managing editor Greenlee School Web Team Ames, Iowa August 2011 – Present Brainstormed and produced content for the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication’s website, while revamping the site and its content to draw in current and potential students. Coordinated a team of reporters, photographers and videographers and began social media accounts for the college to further connect with its audience. Managing editor Ethos magazine Ames, Iowa August 2011 – Present Worked to coordinate the publication’s print and online editions, improve content quality and utilize various methods of storytelling. News editor Iowa State Daily Ames, Iowa August 2010 – May 2011 Managed a team of beat reporters to ensure they covered their beats thoroughly. Rejuvenated the beat system of the Daily to promote thorough coverage of each beat. Brainstormed stories and monitored progress with reporters from conception to print. Media Committee Chair ISU Ambassadors Ames, Iowa August 2010 – May 2011 Managed the media committee of the Ambassadors, managed the group’s media relations. Wrote press releases, organized media outlets for Regents Day at the capitol, kept local news outlets up to date on the group’s activity. Covered student death, VEISHEA spring celebration, 2010 flooding, among other assignments.
