Duncan, PhD • Medical College of Wisconsin Stephan Duncan is the Marcus Professor of Human and Molecular Genetics, Vice-Chairman of Cell Biology, Neurobiology & Anatomy and Director of the MCW program in Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Biology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. His research studies Molecular mechanisms underlying mammalian development.

Loring, Ph.D., has been named founding director of the newly created Center for Regenerative Medicine at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California. Her research focuses on improving quality control of human stem cells that are to be used for clinical applications.

Sean Palecek, PhD • University of Wisconsin, Madison Sean Palecek is a professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His work focuses on the study of how cell-cell adhesive interactions affect disease pathogenesis and how adhesive and mechanical signals combine with chemical signals to regulate stem cell fate choices.

Suzie Pun, PhD • University of Washington Sean Palecek is a professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His work focuses on the study of how cell-cell adhesive interactions affect disease pathogenesis and how adhesive and mechanical signals combine with chemical signals to regulate stem cell fate choices.

D a v e S c h a f f e r, P h D • U n i v e r s i t y o f C a l i f o r n i a , B e r k e l e y David Schaffer is a Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Bioengineering, and Neuroscience at University of California, Berkeley, where he also serves as the Director of the Berkely Stem Cell Center. His work includes the mechanistic investigation of stem cell control, as well as molecular evolution and engineering of viral gene delivery vehicles.

T i m m S c h r o e d e r, P h D Timm Schroeder is a Professor of BioSystems Science and Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich. His research investigates the molecular control of mammalian stem cell fate decisions at the interface of molecular cell biology, stem cell research, medicine and informatics.
