INVOLVED IN AN ARGUMENT? When you disagree with your spouse, it is equally important that you affirm your opinion and yet without exchanging frenzied blows with your partner.

HOW?

Avoid bringing past issues into the picture. Do not involve other members of the family. Call a spade a spade. Avoid euphemisms and ridicule. Do not pass fleeting comments. Depend on reliable sources. Make just statements. Do not comment on their physique. Stop focusing on who is right, instead think of the bottom of the problem. Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Understand your partner’s inabilities, experiences and challenges that confront him/her. Be empathetic while putting forth your statement. Be clear to your partner about why you felt hurt, insulted or ignored.
