JAMESON CAMP-SPRING 2010
Discovery! Spring 2010 Vol. 25 Issue 1
Celebrating 82 Years of Service to Indiana Youth
Enriching the lives of Indiana youth by inspiring them to discover their strengths.
Summer Camp Coming...Discover Your Impact! Summer camp is just around the corner! Our first session begins on June 6th. All of our camps are designed to provide a fun, safe environment. Campers are given the chance to have a great time outdoors while making new friends, learning new skills and building their self confidence to take on new challenges. The Jameson Camp experience offers a wealth of activities and specialty programming designed to cater to the interests of each individual camper. The theme of summer camp this year, “Discover Your Impact,” was selected by our youth leaders. The teens will be developing and delivering programs intended to help all of our campers understand how they impact their environment, friends, community, and health. This year, we are making it easier for families to register by providing on-line registration. To find out more information about summer camp or how to register please visit our website at www.jamesoncamp.org or call our Community Liaison, Jessica Cooney at 241-2661 x31.
See You At Camp!
Award-Winning Jameson! Jameson Wins National Award for Programming! The national American Camp Association honored us with the Eleanor Ells Award for our Tataya Mato program for children impacted by HIV/AIDS. We were one of only six selected around the country for this prestigious award. www.jamesoncamp.org
But Wait, There’s More... Program Director, Tim Nowak, Wins Indiana Award The Indiana chapter of the American Camp Association selected our very own Tim for the “Heart and Soul” Award for his commitment to serving children.

Kudos to our Great Volunteers! We are always grateful to have the assistance of volunteers. Without the help of volunteers it would be very difficult for our small staff to manage to keep up with all that needs to be done at camp. In the past few months we have been very fortunate to have several groups out including: Target Distribution Warehouse, NuStar Energy, Beckman Coulter, FFA, Connection Point Christian Church of Brownburg, Matt Sheckel, Jeremy Van Demar, Joey Medvescek, Ashleigh Smith, Tish Whitlock, Jamal Snorden, Kathy Roush, Sarah McGardy, Laura Hendrick, Levi Andrews, Conesco, and JCPenney Logistics. People interested in volunteering at the camp should contact our Site Manager Brad Higgins to find out more information. Brad can be reached at email@example.com or 241-2661 x16.

Jameson Camp Creating Outdoor Lab for Nature Discovery This Spring Jameson Camp will take another step in enhancing our ability to foster a love and respect of nature among children. We are converting 18 acres of our property that had been used for farming back to forest and prairie. Jameson Camp will be hosting several school field trips throughout the year to help students learn about natural science through hands on exploration. We also received a grant from the Laura Hare Fund to assist us in the creation of the outdoor lab.
If you are interested in helping with this project, please contact Dan Shepley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
