CAMP + CONFERENCE CENTER

SPRING/SUMMER 2018 EDITION

Massanetta Springs provides a place for all people to experience God through renewal, discovery, and hospitality. Executive Director Clayton Rascoe

If I’ve had the chance to greet your group at Massanetta, or if I’ve spoken at your church, a presbytery meeting, or any other event you’ve attended, you’ll know that I never get far into a talk without reminding everyone (including myself) of our mission statement.  “Massanetta Springs provides a place for all people to experience God through renewal, discovery, and hospitality.”  Our entire ministry comes back to this simple, yet audacious mission.    This annual report highlights many of the measurable ways, we were faithful to that mission in 2017.  It will show you the blessing of the total number of guests who experienced this sacred place.  It will demonstrate that through increased participation, sound investment, and careful stewardship, we finished 2017 with funds to help support our 2018 ministry goals.

There are things, however, that this report cannot demonstrate.  No statistic adequately captures the growth of our high school Youth Enablers who were better equipped for Christian Leadership during our Middle School Conferences.  There is no chart that demonstrates how Bible Conference and Church Music Conference attendees left challenged, inspired, and better prepared to live out the gospel when they returned home.  There is no graphic that can show the gratitude of those in the greater Harrisonburg area who were positively impacted by the Christian Service of our Mission at Massanetta groups.    There is also at least one other thing this report cannot express.  That is the gratitude of The Board of Trustees and the staff of Massanetta Springs for all the ways you made 2017 so successful.  Thank you for your prayers, participation, financial generosity, and all the ways you support our mission.  The natural beauty of this place is only surpassed by the beauty of the purpose for which it has existed since 1922.  It remains that way because of you.  Thank you. As always, if we can help you or your congregation in any way, please do not hesitate to be in touch.

In Christ,

Clayton Rascoe Executive DirectorMassanetta Springs.

S.A.L.T. — Serving And Learning Together NOVEMBER 9-11, 2018 | $125 (College) $149 (HS Youth) $165 (Adult) The Serving and Learning Together (S.A.L.T.) conference is a discipleship retreat for high school youth, college youth, and adults. Through keynote sessions, workshops, and small groups we call “chatter groups”, we build a community, learn, and celebrate together. This conference offers age-focused tracks for every participant so all can depart with new understanding and the tools to apply that understanding to their faith journey and life.

My first S.A.L.T. retreat is one that I will never forget...I learned that no matter who you are, what you do, or what you’ve done, God loves you, and God has a plan for you. I learned that I am loved, and that my faith can grow stronger through a continued relationship with God. ~ Reghan Flores (Wake Forest PC)

Massanetta is a place for all seasons If you’ve only been to Massanetta during the summer, bringing your group on a winter retreat provides special opportunities. If winter adventures are on your mind, the Massanutten Resort with its skiing, snowboarding, tubing and ice skating is just 15 minutes away. If your group is not into cold sports, the Massanutten Resort Indoor Water Park is always 85 degrees inside! Come back in the afternoon/evening for a hot meal and a place by the fire. For information, contact Rachael Burgess, Reservations Coordinator at rachaelb@massanettasprings.org or 540-434-3829 ext 114.

Design your own retreat Strengthen your group by getting away for Sabbath, fellowship and renewal. With our ideal setting, recreational opportunities (on campus and nearby), and a variety of lodging and dining options to fit every budget, you’ll not soon forget your Massanetta experience.
