October 29, 2020 Dear MATA Members and Friends,

Thank you for attending our virtual event and for your support of MATA throughout the year. We are truly fortunate to have a membership comprised of generous attorneys who share their talents, time, and resources to help improve the plaintiff’s bar. This has been a challenging year. Not only have we faced many losses, Chief Justice Gants, Ed Wallace, and Mike Mone, but we have had to learn how to carry on our practices in the face of a global pandemic. The fellowship of MATA members has been invaluable, and it has helped me—as I hope it has helped you—to continue to carry on. MATA provides a strong voice for consumers on Beacon Hill, Capitol Hill, and in the courts. Our work helps to make products safer, improve health care and protect consumers in general. Our organization works hard to support its members who provide services to those who need it the most. It has been a great privilege and an honor to serve as President of MATA this past year. I think we made a great deal of progress on the legislative and court fronts and in helping each other during these difficult times. I could not have accomplished these things without the advice and contributions from MATA Past Presidents, Officers, Governors, Committee Chairs, MATA staff and members who stepped forward to assist. I am tremendously proud to be a trial lawyer and part of the MATA family. Thank you for your support and dedication to the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys.
