AboutMHE MARY HARRIS EVENTS has staged large-scale corporate and nonprofit functions for our clients for almost twenty years. We have built our team with a focus on style, organization, guest experience and fun. We work through the entire process from site visits and planning until the last guest departs for home. We have expertly planned fundraising galas, openings, launches, golf events and holiday parties and come prepared with fresh ideas and enthusiasm.


Meet the

MHE TEAM MARY HARRIS owner of MHE Mary Harris began her events career when she opened her own full-service catering company in 1990. Within a year she was catering events for well-known personalities in entertainment, politics, publishing and education. After building a solid reputation in the industry Mary opened a fullservice event planning company and in 1997 launched Mary Harris Events. Mary began to plan celebrations, galas, conferences and weddings for clients around the country.

Mary and Phaedra met in 2002 when Phaedra came into the office to plan her wedding. We loved her the minute she walked in the door, full of enthusiasm, inspiration and organization. It took only a little convincing to get Phaedra to come on board and start planning for our other clients. Phaedra has a background in fashion from Lacoste and Kate Spade and the combination of an upbringing by a New York restaurateur mom and her nursing degree gave Phaedra an outstanding set of skills which make her one of the best most committed planners we’ve ever seen.

Ashley’s discerning eye and commitment to all things stylish got her on board without so much as a sit-down interview. We were lucky to be able to add Ashley to the team to assist with details, research and design on every event. Her degree from Culinary Institute of America gives her that added talent of being an excellent pastry chef! We rely on her to create all of the unique elements for our clients from large custom installations to hand gilded paper.

VENUE SELECTION Whether it’s a corporate destination retreat or an outdoor, tented event against a bucolic background we will do the necessary research to find the perfect venue for your guests.

VENDOR MANAGEMENT We will manage all of your vendors and will act as liaison throughout the process. We will work with your existing vendors or will bring our own extensive network of professionals to you.

BUDGET MANAGEMENT When we are given a budget we stick to it. We pride ourselves on making choices that are thoughtful toward budget and we check in regularly about the progress.

EVENT DESIGN We start with a conversation about the inspiration for your event. What your goals are, who your guests will be and from there will gather the necessary details to move to concept. We will create your event theme from the ground up considering and designing every detail incorporating food trends, setting, atmosphere, floral, lighting and dĂŠcor, graphics and audio visual.

EVENT MANAGEMENT To put it simply we keep the train on its tracks. We will come in at any stage in the process and organize the vendors, put a time schedule in place, set accountabilities and work with your committee or staff members to create a seamless planning process before and during event day.

MENU SELECTION With our roots in catering and fine dining we could hardly overlook the importance of a well-chosen menu. We will work with the chef, venue, caterer and the rental company to create a dazzling meal.

PRINTED MATERIALS We have a talented group of graphic designers on hand to create your custom identity. An invitation will set the tone but we also design the details that are so important to creating a cohesively branded event. Signage, menus, programs, seating cards and other collateral are all considered. TRANSPORTATION/ACCOMMODATIONS Getting from A to B without glitches in between in key to a successful guest experience. We organize getting you and your guests to and from by creating a detailed transportation schedule and working closely with your hotel. We will also negotiate and arrange for hotel rooms for your out-of-own guests. ON-SITE GUEST CONCIERGE If required we will staff your guest check-in upon arrival at the function. We will make sure that there are informed personnel on hand throughout the evening to handle guest questions, changes and needs. ENTERTAINMENT/TALENT Whether it’s a headliner band, solo performer or gospel choir we will bring our network to you to bring you the best entertainment possible within your budget. SCRIPTING/PRODUCTION Depending on the scope of your event we are able to provide you with scripting for your program, talking points for executives and stage production.

PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY It’s important to capture your event so we bring with us professional photographers and/or videographers to give you a well-documented function. We can also create and edit your honoree or corporate sponsor video for presentation at the event. SWAG BAGS AND GUEST AMENITIES We will create unique giveaways, swag bags or hotel room amenities for your out-of-town guests. This is a terrific opportunity to welcome your guests in style with a custom made package. EVENT PROMOTION We will create a media plan and schedule for your event to incorporate traditional methods as well Facebook and Twitter and other social media outliets.
