The doctrine of the Kingdom of Heaven, which was the main teaching of Jesus, is certainly one of the most revolutionary doctrines that ever stirred and changed human thought. ~ H G Wells Since we are going to delve into living in Kingdom authority, we should lay the foundation of what the Kingdom is. This chapter is not meant to be an exhaustive study, but to give us a context or framework of God’s kingdom perspective. Grasping an understanding of the Kingdom will transform our concepts of the church, its purpose and our individual involvement. It is interesting to note that Jesus’ inaugural message was very pointed about one thing: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17). Mark’s version quotes Jesus as saying: “The time has come…The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!” (Mark 1:15). The implication of this statement is that there was a time line of Kingdom manifestation and its appearance was the good news, or the Gospel.
