Topic _ six pavilions for six developing countries at the Expo 2015 in Milano.

Concept _the rice cluster appears like an out of scale

rice field, where you can recognize the texture of the fields. The pavilions facades are made with Alucobond panels. These mirro panels reflect the rice field on the six pavilions and in this way the cluster looks like an unique rice field. Moreover during the six months of the Expo the rice is sown, it will grow and be picked up.

The Rice Cluster appears like an out of scale rice field where the soil texture is recognizable. The colours, the fragrances and the shadows come with the rice’s growing and they characterize the flowing of the time between the pavillions.

Functions Funzioni In the cluster there is a mix of functions and activities.

Paths Percorsi From the Decumano there are different paths that lead to the central space of the cluster. Walking throught these paths you can watch the rice fields and part of the exhibition.

Datascape Allestimento Datascape is the exhibition about the rice. Here there will be informations and facts about the rice and its consumption in the world.

Landscape Paesaggio The landscape of the cluster will chage during the six months of the Expo. This because the from April to October the rice will grow changig the landscape.

Topic _a new cultural center and a new plaza in a place now abandoned in the center of Milano.

Concept _the plaza will be a place for the city, a place of meeting and a cultural events in the open air. It is designed by moving the ground, in order to create a place more similar to natural spaces; it will be also an exposition of natural flowers and plants species.

_the cultural center is designed as a space that opens itself to the city, a space that lives 24h, a place of meeting. It is a building with a central “core� and around this core there are all the activities: the auditorium that is also open to the city with a big window, an open bar, a lounge bar, a restaurant, a bookshop.

Topic _a project for an abandoned village in the mountain of Verbania (north of Italy).

Concept _the proposal is a new kind of hotel the “albergo diffuso” ;

this is a hotel that answer to the new requirements of a kind of tourists that want to experience the possibility of establishing new relations with the residents and with the nature of the place all rooms and common places of the hotel will be placed in the restored house of the village; _in this way the village is restored and new activities are place to give a new life to this place.

_the main idea is to integrate the Peripherique of Paris to the city. The project is developed on the idea of “frenar la ciudad”.

Concept _the project is developped on a timeline of

30 years. The present makes us think the use of the city in a different way, the project is based on the idea of "slow city", where the use of bikes and pedestrians, decrease the number of cars; _so the Peripherique becomes a new boulevard; in this way this big road becomes part of the city and not a border; _the project is developed starting from 3 main points: public transport, green area and connections.

_a new function for a parking street just near the university campus inn Milano.

2015 Concept _ the main idea is to give to this area a

strong identity,, in the way that people can percive it like a pubblic space and not anymore like a parking place;

.

_ the red colour creates something like a “red carpet� that envelops the entire street and produces the attractive element; _on this red carpet some circular elements will be placed on the point where we will place some specific activities.

Video interview_ La vuelta al sueño de Cerdà ?_Barcelona Topic El objectivo del trabajo es intentar entender qué podria ser el uso ideal de los interiores de manzanas de Cerdà, por eso, hemos vuelto a la evolucion del plan, y después hemos hecho algunas entrevistas que presentamos en una pelicula. Después de esta investigación, podemos deducir que los patios de manzanas están ahora los espacios más potenciales para subsanar la falta de espacios públicos del Eixample. La idea de Cerdà era de utilizar las esquinas de manzanas como plazas públicas y el interior como espacios colectivos o públicos. Pero hoy, notamos que no es posible por el tráfico de los coches. Pero si en el futuro, las esquinas se convertirían en plazas, los interiores de manzanas podrían transformarse en espacios semi-privados o colectivos a disposición de los habitantes. Finalmente, las ideas de Cerdà se parecen a los principios urbanisticos actuales. Cerdà estaba muy vanguardiasobre todo en su época de desarrollo industrial. ¡ Hay que seguir la dirección actual !

The studies and proposals of light weight structure with large span, arise in the field of technological development as an invention of alternative ways to build, based on the identification of a new logic for relationship between the different structural elements. The reduction of quantity of material and hence weight of the building, required for the purpose of structural stability, the identification of new forms compatible with the different distribution of the material. The reduction of weight is the secret of the greater structural strength, but the material removed has to be replaced with the exact location in space of the material remained, and then by studying the best form for lightweight roof.
