Elgin Tower Spring 2014

The Elgin Tower is part of an ongoing vision for the city of Elgin to inspire and revitalize the city. At 24 stories and 250,000 sqft, the proposed mixed-use tower is able to reinvigorate Elgin’s commercial culture, as well as serve as a landmark for the city and a vision for its future.

School of Education Fall 2013

A design problem that explores a hypothetical 50,000 SF institutional campus building to support the needs of the Judson University School of Education. Integrated architectural design thinking and making with particular investigations of light, structures, acoustics and materials in the shaping of institutional and/or ecclesiastical environments that include assembly spaces.

Water use diagram

A retention pond at the south end of the site collects storm water runoff from the site. Water from this pond can be pumped back into the building for reuse. Permeable surfaces are used across the site as a means of further mitigating storm water runoff.

Disaster Relief Shelter World Vision Spring 2012

World Vision sponsored a national design competition to design, develop, and prototype a relief shelter designed for rapid deployment in the wake of natural disasters around the world. The project became a study of the human experience, the proposed solution integrating passive heating and cooling and careful spacial considerations to ensure comfort.


Field Work Summer 2013

A collection of in-field sketches and water colors completed during Judson University’s Architecture Study Tour, a six week tour through Italy, Switzerland, Paris, and Norway.


Geneva Public Library Fall 2012

The library, by definition, is a building or room containing collections of books. With advancements in technology, the physical book is seemingly becoming obsolete. This project asks the questions of what the role of a library will be in a technological age.
