1. Despite the importance of soccer in our society, many teachers usually express a reluctance to include it in our physical education classes. Why do you think this is so? What could be the causes? What is your opinion about it? We think that soccer in this moment is probably the most important sport, but we are agree with the teachers because we think that there are many people that doesn't like this sport. Most girls prefer another sport and the boys prefer play with other boys better that girls. So we think that teachers don't include the soccer in physical education classes for choose another sport that like more people, like volley ball, basket... After classes we can say that it was good, and we enjoyed it, we recommend that other teachers include soccer in their classes 2. The main goal about this unit of soccer is that we all have both learned and enjoyed a satisfactory experience in our classes, regardless of our skill level. Do you think this goal has been achieved? What factors have made it easier? What factors have made it more difficult? Give a logical answer. We believe that the main objective has been achieved thanks to the classes have been fun and we played soccer in different ways, different than the traditional soccer. Moreover has been difficult to achieve because we lost a long time starting the classes and we have had less time but we have also achieved the main objective that was to learn and enjoy the sport as well known as soccer
3 - Do you think the measures of grouping people by skill levels and changing some rules when playing in mixed groups helped to enhance your participation in the game, the fun and your learning? Why? Give some examples On one hand it is not a good idea to divide people in groups according to their level or skills. Then we will have at least two different groups, the ones who play better and others who are not very keen on playing football. This way, the most skillful and best players will always play on their own, improving, playing matches and having fun. But then, the other group will always have difficulties when they play, they might get frustrated and give up playing. Maybe these ones don't like this sport so they need someone who encourage them and teach them how to do things well. That's why it is better to mix different levels, because those people, who are not very interested or don't know how to play this sport well, can learn from some friends who are better players. One of the best things of playing football is that it is a team sport, so you can share with your friends many things, such as comradeship, funny moments, friendliness... Exactly for that reason, as friends we have to help those who don't know how to play, and the game will be funnier. On the other hand it is sometimes a good idea to change some rules if we are learning and we want to have fun with our
friends or classmates. This way, people can get more interested in playing and at the same time we learn we also enjoy. Summing up, classifying by levels it is not a good idea, as the best players can teach their mates in order to improve, learn and get more interested. Then, changing the rules could be sometimes a good idea if the goal is to learn and have fun. 4 - Do you believe that your soccer skill level has improved? What other things have you learned? Since we started to play soccer we have improved our skills quite a lot. We don't usually practice this sport, so it was interesting to learn new rules, techniques, dynamics and working in teams. It was also a good way to get to know better our classmates and share with them good moments at the same time we were learning. Other things we have learned are to work in teams, to be more competitive and to improve the techniques of the game. 5- Using the answers given to the questions above, write a text as a sort of diary. It must include your expectations about the classes before starting the unit and how you have lived the experience. The extension should be between 250-400 words. 1st week This week, we were going very nervous to physical education class, because we were very anxious to start playing football.
We thought that the things would be easy, but the first contact with ball and first passes, we realized that we need some classes to learn football. In first lessons, we practiced all tipes of shots and passes with different groups of people. We were learning the rules of football. 2nd week In the second week, we were anxious to play football matches, and we were divided with groups of three. That was a great activity because you would played with your friends and you had played with all the little teams and with all people of the class. The problem is that we used lots of days with that activity. 3rd week In this week, we known a bit more how to play football, and we were divided in groups according to our level or skills. Then we will have at least two different groups, the ones who play better and others who are not very keen on playing football. It causes that best players would always played on their own, improving, playing matches and having fun. But then, the other group would difficulties when they play, they might get frustrated and give up playing. That is a thing that we don’t agree with the classes that we had done. 4th week This was the last week playing football. In these days, we finally played tipical football matches in all the pitch and with the real rules.
The teacher divided the class in four equilibrated teams, and we played versus all the teams. We loosed all the matches because we played very bad in team. In conclusion, we had learned a lot of things about football, including rules, how to plat, etc. and we had passed good time doing that work. We thing that one of the best things of playing football is that it is a team sport, so you can share with your friends many things, funny moments, friendliness... and we thing that football is probably the most important sport in Spain. Exactly for that reason, as friends we have to help those who don't know how to play, and the game will be funnier and more played by people.
