LOMBARD HOUSE Lombard House, 10 Lombard Street is located between the Central Business District and The Cathederal Quarter. The original building was five-storey and designed by William Hastings in 1874 and sat at the corner of Castle Place and Lombard Street. The re-built Lombard House, was opened in 1992, the faรงade of the new building extends outwards onto Lombard Street in a cantilevered bow. Following the full refurbishment and redesign of the building by our team, Prince William re-opened the building this month.

Challenges: •

Inspire (previously known as NIAMH) are Northern Ireland’s largest independent mental health charity. Inspire were previously situated in a portfolio of properties across Belfast that were no longer fit for purpose.

Inspire wanted a new location that provides integrated space for both staff and service users to encourage a serene working environment.

The Martin Group Solution: •

The Martin Group sourced a purpose built, single office building based in the city centre to act as Inspire’s new headquarters.

The design of the office incorporates floor to ceiling segmented and curved glass, creating an open working environment and integration from the company directors to the floor staff through the curved & segmented glass panelling.

The Martin Group provided bespoke, Grade A office accommodation for both staff and service users, for example dark contrasting paint was painted around each electrical socket to help those with visual impairments and sinks were dropped in height to help those with physical impairments.


Curved and rounded layouts rather than pointed and straight-edged has been linked with positive emotions, which is known to be beneficial for creativity and productivity.
