Welcome to the Guildford Summer Festival 2018 It gives me great pleasure to introduce the hugely popular programme of events planned for this year’s Guildford Summer Festival that runs from 8 June to 12 August. The programme includes all the traditional festival events that have been so well supported over the years including the Craft Market that highlights the very best of the craft maker’s art, the now well established Farmers Market that showcases the very best of local produce - the challenge is to walk by without the urge to buy something!, the Guildford Cricket Festival, Guildford Beer Festival both extremely popular events and don’t miss the messing about on the river with the Guildford Lions charity fund raising Raft Race. There are lots of celebrations of Alice in Wonderland this year book a free Town Guide Walk to make sure that nothing is missed, from the ‘Alice Day’ to the Guildford Shakespeare Company performances. There is also quality drama at outdoor venues, where you can enjoy a picnic and a performance in stunning surroundings including the Castle Grounds, the Law College and Racks Close. Not forgetting events at G Live, the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford House Gallery and many other heritage sites. There really is something for everyone and I am sure the whole family will be able to enjoy a wonderful day out during the Guildford Summer Festival 2018; details of which are contained in this brochure and on the website. I am sure you will join me in thanking all the event organisers, sponsors and contributors for their efforts and support, which makes the Guildford Summer Festival the great success that it is.
