Welcome to the Guildford Summer Festival 2017 I am delighted to introduce the wonderfully broad programme of events planned for this year’s Guildford Summer Festival, which runs from 12 June to 12 August 2017. The programme includes all of the now traditional festival events, the Craft Fair in the High Street, Guildford Cricket Festival and the Guildford Beer Festival; some crazy fund raising in the form of the Guildford Lions Raft Race and some old favourites returning to the programme with a new twist! Both the Guildford Shakespeare Company and Guildford Pranksters will be performing outdoors, so I sincerely hope the weather is kind to us! As well as a host of events to be held at G Live, the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford House Gallery and other heritage sites, there will of course be many other events across the borough, so however you enjoy spending your leisure time I am sure you will find something to enjoy. I am delighted to welcome and introduce two new events for the 2017 Summer Festival, The Festival of Surrey at Hurtwood Polo Club and One Live, a special concert hosted by TV’s SuperVet, in Stoke Park, and a welcome return for the 2nd year of the Cheese and Chilli Festival. I am sure the whole family will be able to enjoy the full range of diverse events, many of which I am hoping to attend myself - it’s going to be a busy summer! Details of all events are contained in this brochure and on the website. I am sure you will join me in thanking all the event organisers, sponsors and contributors for their efforts. Without them, the Guildford Summer Festival simply would not be possible.
