Donovan Garletts Position: Head Coach Experience: 3rd Year Alma Mater: Indiana University ‘08/’10 Donovan Garletts just completed his first season as Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Marquette Catholic High School. The Blazers went 13-10, and were one point away from a Sectional Championship. Garletts previously coached at the high school level and on the national AAU circuit. Prior to coming to Marquette, Garletts was an assistant men’s basketball coach at Bloomington High School South. During his three years there, 2006-2009, South compiled a 66-7 record. In 6

2009 they became just the 12th team in the history of the IHSAA to end a season undefeated, and they were ranked 3rd nationally by USA Today. Garletts also coached for Indiana Elite, a nationally recognized travel basketball program. In 2008, his 16U team won two national tournaments and was runner-up in three others. Coach Garletts was born and raised in Crown Point, Indiana. He graduated from Indiana University with a B.A. of Sociology and a M.S. in Athletic Administration. Coach Garletts is currently working on his Ph.D. at Marian University. He, his wife Kristina, and their dog Hoosier currently reside in Michigan City.. Coach Bracewell is a graduate of St. Joseph’s College in Rensselear. His coaching career began as a co-head coach at St. Gregory High School in Chicago. He was there for 7 years. After moving to Southwestern Michigan, Coach Bracewell began coaching elementary school kids at Notre Dame grade school in Michigan City. After retiring from McCormick Place in Chicago, Bracewell decided to join the staff at Marquette Catholic. He has always been an avid supporter of the Blazers and is currently a member of the school’s board. Coach Bracewell resides in Grand Beach, Michigan with his beautiful wife Carol. They enjoy golfing together.

Coach Mooney is a native of Northwest Indiana. Born and raised in Hammond, he attended Hyles Anderson College where he received his Bachelor’s in Secondary Education. While there he was asked by Dr. Jack Hyles to head up the football program at a local high school. In 1996, he became the head basketball coach for the school. During his tenure, his teams won over 600 games and were champions of the National Invitational Tournament eight times. Coach Mooney recently retired from coaching after 35 years at the helm. He was the Athletic Director and coach of many sports throughout his tenure. Coach Mooney currently resides in Schererville, Indiana. He and his wife of 36 years have four children: Ruth, Rachel, Tim, and Todd, and three grand children: Lucas, Reagan, and Brit.

As a player, he was drafted 9th overall by the Detroit Pistons, and later went on to help the Chicago Bulls win two nBA Championships. In 1995 he retired from the nBA and started his coaching career. not only has Levingston coached all over the world, but he has coached all ages, and types of players, from youth to professional.
