Our assistant, Terry created all four of the crafts, to rave reviews from family and guests alike. HOME SAFETY TIPS FOR HOLIDAY DECORATING Decorating is one of the joys of the holiday season. But these same decorations can also become a significant hazard if not used carefully. Each year in the U.S., there are an estimated 250 house fires involving Christmas trees & another 170 caused by holiday lights/candles. The following are some fire safety tips for the holidays:


Give a bench some holiday spirit with an arrangement of holiday greenery, pinecones, gazing balls, a nd or na me nt s . S pr a y t h e arrangement with a light dusting of fake snow for extra winter flair Wrap spheres of grapevines in lights to create shimmering orbs. Place these globes in birdbaths, urns, or on steps to cast an ethereal glow on your outdoor landscape. Safety Tip: Use an outdoor-rated power cord. INDOORS

Spray-paint small terra cotta pots to match your ball ornaments and let dry. Remove the hanger tops from the ball ornaments and fill the ornaments with water. Place a cut poinsettia flower in the ornament and nestle the arrangement in the pot. Fill a square glass vase with juniper sprigs & evergreen branches, along with shiny red ornaments in assorted sizes. The ensemble is finished with a flourish with the addition of dramatic red flowers! Source:

 Keep your tree watered - check the water levels daily.  Do not place your Christmas tree close to a fireplace.  Before putting up holiday light sets, annually inspect

     

them for frayed wires, excessive kinking/wear, etc., discarding any that are in this condition. Use only CSA-approved lighting. Do not overload circuits. Never leave holiday lights or lit candles unattended. Avoid the use of lit candles. Keep all open flames away from your Christmas tree. Do not hang stockings, cards, garlands, etc. from your mantle if you’re using the fireplace. Source:
