We lco me The Mark Morris Dance Center, located in the heart of the Brooklyn Cultural District, is the hub of creative activity for the community. The School’s progressive pedagogy and year-round, inclusive programming celebrate dance and music, foster artistic expression, encourage life-long learning, and reflect the diverse culture of our Brooklyn community. Whether you engage in our Family Fun series, connect with the Dance Group through our monthly Dance with MMDG classes, support our next generation of dance artists through Student Company and MMDG Arts Immersion performances, or drop in and dance to live music, we offer the highest quality programming for everyone. We are proud to announce plans to expand our artistic home with the addition of three new studios, slated for completion in 2019 as part of our Mark Morris: Above & Beyond fundraising campaign. This expansion will provide even more dance opportunities for you, your family, and other members of the community for generations to come. We welcome you to get involved in any capacity as we pursue this ambitious project. Join us today, be a part of our tomorrow.

Jazz Emerging onto the scene alongside Jazz music in the early 1900’s, Jazz dance is an upbeat and performative style that is often seen in Broadway productions. While exploring many different stylistic preferences, students focus on universal jazz principles such as syncopated rhythms, body isolations, precise technical skills, and choreography.
